I like the witchy icon and it suits me well. My best friend has called me "Witch" since Junior High School, I had my  RNY on October 31st, and I have 8 black cats. Feels appropriate.

Yesterday was my last day of work for a while. I suppose I could have put in some hours this coming week but felt like my mind wouldn't be on the job.

Tom and I plan to go tp the Apple Festival if the rain holds off. After that, book shopping, maybe lunch, then the dreaded grocery shopping. Saturday is the most congested day so we shall see.

Hi George:

It's sunny and beautiful here in West Michigan. Some trees are ablaze in color, some are still green. We have to have a hard frost before they all change. But it's still gorgeous. I'm not going anywhere ... no money. Jus****ching baseball, doing laundry, trying to get somewhat organized. I put up the last of my Halloween decorations ... the lighted pumpkin in the window. I figured it was close enough to the first of the month. Hopefully the condo police won't complain too much.

Started to do my exercises for my knee. Funny thing is I have been doing similar things all along. Hope they help. The muscle is called the fasces something or other. Can't remember the rest. Knee and back were giving me grief last night and kept me up late; had to take a second vicodin to get to sleep, and I read for awhile, a historical fiction called "Daughter of York." Just started it not long ago ... it's not too bad. It's in the period before Henry VIII and the Tudors. I guess I'm hooked on that period and now want to know more. I got this book through the Press book sale, so it was really cheap.

Work was pretty busy last night, what with the debate and all. Plus, the crew working wasn't used to Friday nights, so I had to guide everyone along on what time deadlines were, and what time certain things came over the wire. There was this one copy editor who never works Friday nights ... she's pregnant and due at the end of December. She wears an awful lot of perfume or cologne or whatever, and everytime she came by me, it took a lot of time for me to recover; I had to put my hand over my nose and mouth so I wouldn't start to cough. She's a very nice woman and I like her, but I can't stand all that fragrance. I don't want to hurt her feelings. Sometimes I wonder if it's not the perfume but all the fragrance in the laundry detergent.

My White Sox are fading fast ... they lost again last night. They could have gotten back into first place because the Twins lost but their pitching stunk, although at least last night they hit a bit. I think the season's over. I agree with the manager; they're embarassing.

George, I love Mexican food ... it's my favorite too. Sounds like it'll be a fun night. Wish I could get a West Michigan group going ... I've tried but everytime I've planned a get-together here, lots of people say they'll show up, but only five or six come. Other people have the same problem. Just no commitment. Good job on the help for the Ike victims. I saw the photos of the devastation in Galveston ... so sad! I was just there in April, and the place we stayed is probably gone ... it was next to Joe's Crab Shack, and I saw a photo of that place destroyed. We so enjoyed Galveston, what a great place!

Well, I should get going. Have a good day.
