Happy Saturday OFFers!  I slept until 10 this morning - at least that's making progress to getting up earlier!  lol  Took my meds, did my 2-mile walk away the pounds, and had my first protein shake of the day.  I'm making my shakes with water instead of skim milk today to see if I can get that ##%(#Q*#%* scale to move.  (I know, I'm obsessing again)

B - 4 oz Protein Shake
S - 1/2 cup no sugar added applesauce
L - 4 oz Protein Shake
D - 1/2 cup cottage cheese
S - 4 oz Protein Shake

Tonight I'll do about 15 min of upper body toning exercises.  These triceps are REALLY starting to go south now.  lol  Guess I'm like a friend of mine says - I'm getting my angel wings early!

Brenda - Hope things go well for you tomorrow.

Linda - 100 degrees!  Yowserrrrrrrrsssssss!  Take it easy in that heat.  Hope you and the grands have a good time today.

Alice - I hope your new med works for you!
Hugs! Donna L (finding_me) - I just know I'm here somewhere...

Hiya Donna, I answered your post from last night as it hit on so much!!
One word of advice, do not skimp on your protein or good carbs. My NUT told me the good carbs burn fat, and we need protein to heal and to substain us. Of course follow what your Doc and NUT says.
You are exercising, sometimes that slows the weight loss, but you lose inches, so please measure yourself to see more progress.
The excercise is do good for you. I understand the compulsion to weigh, but I promise it will happen.
We are not on DIEits, we are on LIVEits. A whole new world, a whole new life.
I was sure I was going to be the one this WLS would not work on  but look what God has wrought.
Hugs!

PS. If any one gets the chance to read Donna's response to my post yesterday and mine's back to her, at the bottom of the page, please do! It shows how we must be activists in our own recovery,
Thanks!

Good afternoon to everyone!  It is getting on late in the day here, but I just couldn't find time to sit down until now.

Breakfast - protein shake with banana

Then I went to teach a class, then to watch my grandson play football, run an errand for my daughter and back home.  I really wasn't hungry, but finally decided on 1/2 c of chocolate pudding made with extra protein

I am taking the youngest daughter out for supper tonight for her birthday and it is a place that we have not been... but they boast that they have seafood, so that is probably what I will have...  Love fish of any kind.

Found time for the cycling - 20 minutes and treadmill - 30 minutes... May have to come back home and do some more, depends on how much I eat...  hee-hee

Love to all,
Shelia

Linda,
To be honest with you - I have not felt like I have had surgery - no soreness, I had very little gas and at 6 weeks post op, I feel great!  I took off the first week from the hospital, but in reality I think I could've worked a couple of days earlier than what I did.

I am trying extra hard to get in that awful thing called exercise...  And I will be back on the cycle soon.  The new restaurant was great and I chose the crab stuffed flounder with mixed veggies.  Ate about half of the flounder and some of the veggies.  And I feel stuffed, too!  LOL  A little cycling and treadmill walking might be the best thing.

Thanks for the support - It is always good to have an extra kudo in your corner!

This is going to be fun.  This was my Saturday food.

about 8 oz of Crockpot Chicken Parmassean.
about 5 or 6 oz of assorted cheeses
1/2 Chicken Enchilada covered in Spinach Cream sauce
1/2 cup Flan (oops)
Tortilla chips with butter and salt (I'm a little strange)

Not a good food day for me, but I feel fine.  Plus, I would not be surprised if I missed some things.  Gotta get used to doing this. Sunday will be better.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
