Hi Dorothy,

I know exactly what you are going through. I had a total hip replacement on 4/23/08 and I've watched my mom have both her knees replaced. It's not easy, but so worth it! I love my hip replacement and living without that chronic pain. It's wonderful and worth it just as much as my RNY which I had last October (anniversary coming up soon). Today I walk 2.5 miles every morning in addition to my physical therapy exercises. I must admit that I have my life back; and although this has been a hard year, it's been the most successful of my life.

Take it easy and follow the directions of your doctors and P.T.s and you'll soon be amazed at how wonderful life is!

I looked up Vadnais Heights on mapquest to see how far it was from Eagan, MN. My son and his family live there including my little grandsons 4 and 2 years. I try to visit a couple of times a year to see them. You're only 20 miles away! Awesome! You probably shop at some of the same places.

Congratulations on your knee replacement. Hang in there and exercise, exercise, exercise.

All the best and (((((((BIG HUGS)))))))

Kathie

I hope your recovery gets better and better.  My dad had both knees replaced and they are great now.  He doesn't use them like he should, but his excuses have nothing to do with the knees.

I just had my left knee replaced on the 8th of September... came home on the 11th... I am guessing you must have had some sort of complication yes?

You have an empathetic ear here.... or knee

I had home care for the PT until today when I started out patient PT....

Dorothy, I've had both knees replaced and am so glad I did. Take those drugs, do that therapy religiously. The first month isn't much fun but you'll be amazed at the difference within 6 weeks. I always took a pain pill right before therapy.  It helped me get through it. Hugs,

Karen C
