Linda,

Yesterday's trip to the eye doctor with Mom was extremely tiresome.  We waited 1-1/2 hrs for them to do a visual field test, and then had to abandon it because Mom wouldn't/couldn't cooperate.  So they tested her vision and eye pressure and finally sent us on our way.

Driving home, we were on a 4-lane highway that goes through farm country.  Mom said, "Don't they have rules about highway signs here?"

"Rules?  What rules?"

"Well, shouldn't they have signs telling you what towns are here, and highway services?"

I laughed.  "There are no towns here.  There are no highway services."

I have gained another 1.2 lbs despite taking a laxative yesterday (which did yield results).  This is very discouraging, especially since I'm not even sure the Meclizine is helping my vertigo.

B: 1 packet weight control oatmeal made w/ skim milk & banana
S:  iced decaf latte
L:  2 oz tofu in peanut sauce, 2 oz green beans w/ ham
S:  3 oz light yogurt
D:  2 oz steak, 2 oz spinach with onions
S:  4 oz SF pudding

Jean, bless your mom's heart. I know this is hard on you, but you do make the best of it.
I am concerned about you. Does this medicine make you retain fluid also?
I like going to webmd to find out about meds. They have reviews from real everyday people. I think you should look there.
Also, there is hardly any med that does not have an alternative, there may be something that may not effect you so badly.
I hope so...
Take care!

  Morning all,

I always look at the Healthy Choice meals and wonder if they are tasty. Must be good since you are eating them Linda.

I'm a nervous wreck. No focus, can't settle down, and my sleep is filled with crazy nightmares. They shouldn't tell me about surgery so far in advance. It gives me too much time to fret.

Food - different day & same menu

Hiya sis! I missed the damn boat again!! I do not know of your operation!
I will find out I am sure, I am so far behind.
Healthy Choice is good, I just stay away from the starch part of it, good protein and something different for the girl on the go.
As for Lean Cuisine..let the buyer beware!! Ain't a darn thing lean about it...way too many carbs.
Special hugs!

S - I don't know.  Probably a yogurt or peanut butter
D - chicken breast I cooked Sunday with onions, garlic, and mushrooms

Good hump day to you, Linda. You have to hurdle the humps to get through Hump Day! Just remember that.

Today is a day of Library, sermon writing, service planning, and stewardship moment writing. I was asked a few weeks ago to do the stewardship moment sunday and I said alright. Now Pastor is probably not going to be here on Sunday since they are thinking that his dad is going to pass at any time. He is now in Ohio with him. So I get to do the service on Sunday and that involves writing up the bulletin and getting it to Jeri by tomorrow at the latest, and sitting down and researching for the sermon. I am already aware of what I am doing it on. I found it a few months ago in the Book of Worship. I found the call to worship and I just loved it. It is talking about being centered in Christ and that is what I am speaking about. I think at this time it is needed.

Had my meeting last night at the church and met our new Pastor and his wife. They are lovely people. I am sure that they are going to fit in well. His name is Pastor G (he goes by his first initial and then his middle and last name) and I really like him. My whole committee (or I should say the ones that were there) really like them too. We got the feeling of relief and we all agreed that we think that he is just what we need to get us to where we are planning on going. His first sunday is the 12th and so that is one reason I am not going to be able to go to Michigan with my sister of OFF. I am sad about it but Carla just told me that there is going to be other GTG's. and that is keeping me kind of not as sad. But sometimes when you have something that you are really looking forward to and then life throws in the monkey wrench it makes you sad.

Food is not as important yet but it is getting better.

B: sf oatmeal and a peach (what am I going to do when they go out of season?)
L: half a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
D: salmon and veggies
S: who knows.

I am going so have a wonderful day and know that you are loved. Thanks so much for the recipe, it sounds good. I am going to try it. I am sending love and big hugs to you. You and yours remain in my special prayers and remember that today is the day the Lord has made so let us rejoice and be glad in it.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
