Good morning Vera and OFFers!

Happy birthday to your official teenage granddaughter!

Sat. George and I went to the gym.  Usually when we go together, I'm waiting for him to leave, this time, he was waiting for me!  We ran a couple of errands and back at home I started cooking for the week while he tended his garden.  Yesterday, after Mass, I went to a movie (chick flick George didn't want to see "Women").  After the movie, I did a little shopping at World market and Linen and Things.  He stayed home and worked in the bathroom we're (he's) remodeling.  Hey, I pick out the fixtures and color while he does most of the work.  Guess I'm the supervisor!  Really, I'll be in there helping to hang the new wall paper.  Today it's back to the grind.

Many HUGS,
Debbie

Hi Vera,
Today I am going to go to work at noon till 8pm. My life is boring to say the least.
I was off all weekend and didnt do to much. Yesterday we went to the flea market, Walmart and the small whole food store to stock up on things I needed.
I wanted to go camping but that didnt happen.
Counting down the days to go to Frankenmuth. Cant wait to get on the plane.
Well off to the shower to go and get ready for work.

Morning Everyone,
Well I went to my first support meeting yesterday.  It was a question and answer session followed by a pot luck.
WOW what food, I was afraid that after surgery I wouldn't be able to have any variaty in my life.  Was I wrong!!
There were people there that had all types of WLS surgery and all were willing to talk about their choices.  Some are a bit pushy about what you should choose though and tried to convince me that DS was better than RNY.  I stuck my ground though as I had researched with my lifestyle in mind.
What a great bunch of people and I feel that I will fit in pretty well.  Just like I feel welcome here.  Thanks again.

Good Morning Vera and OFF Family!

Another Monday morning and here I sit at my workstation, so far this week appears to be looking like all the other ones I've had in the last year, S L O W. . .  oh well, I'm here ready to work if they need me for something. . .

Otherwise, we share a common date, today is my oldest child's birthday, 35 today, where did the time go?  I have a hard time believing he is the age he is, I remember when I was that age, probably some of the best days of my life at that time in my life, but my days today are certainly right up there along with those. . .  So happy birthday to your Granddaughter and to my Son!

Tonight I carry my saggy butt to the gym and work on building muscles and working up a good sweat afterwards as I do a 5K on the treadmill, it will be easy to get through, as I will get to see the Jets play while I burn those calories. ..

Hope you all have a wonderful day and if you are having struggles, my prayers and positive thoughts include you!

Hugs, L

Good Morning.. Good ole weatherman. When I went to bed last night he said no rain, so of course it has been pouring cats and dogs all morning. I didn't realize it is the first day of fall, makes me sad. I really really hate winter. But at least I have somethiong to look forward too, my sweet  anticipated grandson will arrive in the worst of winter. Liz and I went to a slew of baby stores and consignment shops on Saturday, my feet where throbbing but we had fun. We both bought bags ful of clothes and I bought a Pack n Play to set up in the spare bedroom. She is buying everything puppies(theme), and I bought everything NOT puppies. Chuck got 3 speeding tickets over the last week, plus his license plates are expired, sounds like he has fines of over $500 and a mandatory court date tomorrow, as he was traveling 116 mph on his motorcycle, I am betting he will lose his license. Guess who is not answering their phone tomorrow. That is another reason I just couldn't take his life anymore ,there is always drama and crisis. I think he is going to lose his house with in the next year. Still he is talking about us  living in the same house. What doesn't he understand??? My Mom, Daughter and Grandaughter went and saw the Movie"Women" last weekend, it was very good. Before the movie we went to Hooters for lunch. On the way to work I stopped at McDonalds and got a ham egg& Cheese bisquit. I ate about half the ham, egg and cheese part and I feel terrible, runny nose, queezy, the chills and dizzy. Just touching a bisquit is making me sick? Have a blessed day

Good Morning Vera and Everyone.........

I am up and very busy this morning. Monday's are always like that aren't they!! Everyone (clients) needing something....right now!!!!!

I had a fun weekend over all. I am not going to date Dick anymore....he sounded rejected and didn't have much else to say. Oh well....it was my choice to make.

My neighbor Dan invited me over for dinner last night. We just hung out and chatted the evening away. We have become good friends. He is nice and very easy to talk to. No....no romance there....only friendship.

Vera.....hope your granddaughter has a wonderful birthday today!!!

George....thanks for the info.....that is so true these days!!

I wish everyone a wonderful day. Prayers to those in need.....love you all!!!

Love and hugs to all.......connie d

Hi Vera and my OFF family:

My back finally feels semi-normal today ... I say semi-normal because it always hurts a little but today it's not as bad as it was yesterday. The pain isn't radiating down the leg at least. And, of course, the replaced knee hurts. But that's par for the course.

I had a lazy day yesterday and today slept til nearly 10, snuggled with Scooter and then Nettie purring loudly beside me. I got up only because I had things I wanted to get done today. After breakfast, I went to Michaels and got some fall silk foliage for my flower box (I don't do real flowers ... I have a black thumb) and some hooks to put up the garland that I got from Collections ... right now it's held up by masking tape but that isn't holding it up very well. I'm hoping the 3M hooks will work. They're tiny hooks and I think they'll do well. If not, I got them for 40 percent off of $3.99, so that's a good deal. I'll try one and see if it works. The garland is gorgeous, and it lights up too. It was a pain to put together, though ... the little lights are supposed to go in these little holes and they don't stay there. Very aggravating!

After that, I went over to pick up my pre-dental appointment antibiotics; then over to drop off a return package, then to get a med for my scalp crud that has returned. But the coupon I had that was supposed to cover the $50 copay says I can't use it, so I have to call the dermatologist and ask about that ... I can't afford a $50 prescription ... I have one and that's all I can afford. If not, I'm going to have to figure out how to treat the scalp crud another way. While I was waiting, I had a Starbucks coffee, so it wasn't a wasted trip.

Well, I should go have lunch. Have a good day. Don't know if I have a beef recipe, but I'll look and maybe post it later.

Hi Vera,
I just looked down at my desk calendar and noticed that we are WAY into September already! The trees outside my window are moving to a gentle breeze and some are already showing signs of Fall. Why is it that my life is going so fast now when it used to seem to go so SLOW?
My life is a bit crazy (as it is for many of you) right now. We have a bid on a condo for our daughter (she's in college and it's actually cheaper to buy here than it is to pay rent). We are bidding against another buyer and it is anxiety provoking.
We are also remodeling. We have almost finished our two bathrooms. The last job is replacing the tile counters with granite. That is happening in about a week. Next we are starting on the kitchen. I am ordering the new cabinets today, so in three weeks we will be starting that big job of tearing out the whole kitchen and redoing it. I need to choose appliances and order more stone for the floor, but I'm stuck- procrastinating. It seems overwhelming. JUST DO IT! The money part of it is a bit scary. We inherited a small chunk from my husband's mother, but the remodeling will eat that up fast if I'm not careful. The state of the economy is making me feel more nervous than I have been up to this point. My job is safe- as is my husband's (Gallo Winery will not likely go belly-up). What a crazy country we have right now. I feel angry that so many bad and greedy decisions have hurt all of us.
I need to make my appointment for my 6 month trip to the oncologist in SF. I really don't worry about it... I enjoy staying in the Japanese hotel for two days and pretending I live in the city for a short while. The appointments are more preventative than anything else. If I do have a reoccurance they will catch it quickly. Candy, Janet and Debi- want to come and visit?
Happy Autumn!
Julia
