Good morning my OFF Brothers and Sisters,
Today is my granddaughter's birthday. She is officially a teenager!! Lord Help me!!! Will be calling her soon.
I just took a sleeping pill and can't sit her much longer.
I hope that you have a wonderful day. God Bless each and everyone of you. I am also praying for a financial blessing for all of us here who need one.
Hugs,
Today, I changed my signature here. I decided to get rid of the ticker. I am now 11 pounds below goal, and I weigh every day to keep an eye on it. So, I am not that concerned. I have now lost 151 pounds since December 1st. Wow! I would never have believed it, even with the surgery.
Now that baseball season is over, the next high point for me will be the State Fair of Texas (we are going on October 8th) and then the birth of my 6th grandchild in early November.
Brenda, you have to bring us up to date on how it went at the church yesterday.
Connie D. - can I borrow a line from an old joke? I don't know who's wedding it is that you are thinking of not going to, but if the person is upset, tell them you will go to their next one. (Okay, I'm going to my corner)
One last thing. Today starts the Mouthwatering Mondays. I can't wait to read the recipes. Brenda said the topic for the week is beef. Make sure you have them ready to post, I will post mine tonight.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
YEAH , fall has arrived as of today ... Not sure if I am glad or sad as I love summer.
Yesterday was a lovely day. Church in am and went out to lunch for a grilled chicken salad , then to shop for Halloween yard decorations ,,,REALLY fall ones then Rick and I took a long walk along the trail near the house ...IT was so lovely out , We stopped after the walk and sat on one of the benched they provide along the trail and chatted and wiled away the afternoon...Love day s like this as we seldom have time to do nothing lol
Work today and my coworker is off so I will be a busy bee. Actaully she works for me and when she is out I have to do her stuff and mine but we all need time off so I am gonna suck it up, shut up and make it a great day ,, :)

I am not feeling much better but I have come to the conclusion that I am going to live. I have just to many things to do not to. I have tried to sleep but that wasn't going to well. I did get a few hours of good sleep but the rest was interrupted a lot. My fever has gone down so that is a plus. I am just so cold. I can't seem to warm up. It goes all the way to my bones. You all know that kind of cold I am sure. haha
I have a meeting with the Pastor this morning. It is about the evaluation that we need to redo. I am so blasted sick of that dang evaluation I could just spit! But maybe it will get done today. That would be a wonderful thing. Wish me luck on it.
Well, I had to make the announcement that we had the letter of resignation from Pastor. It is effective after the service of October 5th. It was so hard for me to do but I got through it without crying. So that is a certain plus. I didn't do that when I read it to Bill to see how it sounded. I did cry in the pew when I was waiting to be called up there. I just stood there (we were singing the last hymn) and asked God to give the strength to do this. He did and I had no doubt that He would. I did cry when Pastor and I was walking down the aisle and out in the narthex greeting the congregation. Most of us cried when we were leaving. It is sad. But like I told them in my announcement Pastor will leave his mark on our church just as the previous Pastors have all left their mark. And hopefully we as a church and as individuals will leave our mark on Pastors life. So the deed is done and now we begin a new chapter in our life. I feel like being the chairperson of the Staff Parish Relations Committee that the church is looking to me to get them all through. This is a heavy thing to me. I just don't do well with change so please accept my apology if I dwell on this for a while. We are meeting with the District Superintendent again tomorrow night to let her know what we think we need in a Pastor. We as a church will survive and I will too. This for sure isn't the first Pastor that I had a good relationship with and I am sure he won't be the last one either. Just when the others left I was the chairperson of the SPRC. That is big difference to me.
I am going to start our new thread today. Mouthwatering Monday~Beef! I just have to find the recipe that I want to share. haha Leave it to me to wait until the last minute. I know just what one that I want to share. I just have to get the recipe box and get it. Look for it later on. Get your favorite beef recipe out and I don't think it needs to be wls friendly because we can always adjust it to our needs. There is a lot of sites that will do that. That is my own personal opinion. What do the rest of you think? FEEDBACK PLEASE!!!
I better get going. I am sending my love and a heap of big hugs to go with it. Have a wonderful Monday and know that God loves you all and so do I. I am sending prayers up to heaven for every one and special ones are going up for those in need of them. Thanks for the prayers, Vera, for the financial blessings for all of us in need of them. I think it is safe to assume that all of us could use them. haha I know for sure I could use a double prayer on that one. Remember that this is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Hope everyone has a great day - even if it is a Monday!

It was a lovely weekend...the weather was so beautiful.
Saturday night they had a 50's Prom Fund Raiser at Church. So many of the sweet young gals at church worked sooo hard getting it all ready. I remember when I used to Chair this and that and it is so nice to sit back and just show up and enjoy it now. My husband just wore his tux and I wore a long black chiffon skirt and ruffled top and a big white rose. We went as Chaperones. Decided I would not try to look like I did in the 50's.too much of a stretch.LOL [we had to go as my husband is a Trustee at church and we needed to support it]
There were so many cute gals in poodle skirts and chiffon prom dresses. Lots of guys in jeans and leather jackets. They had a silent auction and a live auction. One priest wore a 50's burgandy cossack.[the kind Monsignor's wore in the 50's and the other young priest wore jeans, white t-shirt and jacket and slicked back hair.]They raised about $50,000 to help reduce the debt of the church.
Sunday it was just Mass as usual and my Open House and then we babysat with our two little grandsons so our daughter and SIL could go out with friends for dinner. They sure are fun.[21 months and 5 years old]
This morning I am going to an appointment with a friend that is going to hear if she is able to have brain surgery. We are meeting with 3 doctors. She is afraid she won't remember what they tell her...so I am her support system. She is such a sweet sweet person. This is most likely a birth defect and is in a very difficult spot in the brain and very dangerous surgery.
Later today I am going to hear Michelle Obama talk. I think it will be very interesting to see her. I will let you know how it goes. I find her a very intelligent thoughtful person.
Hope all your days are wonderful.
Hugs, Marti

What a busy weekend we had. Saturday we got up bright and early and went to the Pork Festival in Eaton, Ohio. It was a great time, as usual. Saw an old co-worker from Ohio. We walked and walked. It's one of the largest festivals we've been to. We try to go every year.....moving to Indiana hasn't even stopped us. After we left there, we went to Dayton to do some shopping at the commissary. Had dinner at an old favorite place and stopped and saw a friend before heading home. It was almost 10 when we got home, and poor CJ was starving.
Yesterday we went up to Fort Wayne to the Johnny Appleseed Festival. It was a different type of festival with every dressing in colonial attire. We had ordered a wood carving of a Dalmatian at the Blueberry Festival and supposed to pick it up. Unfortunately, he didn't get it done, so we'll be traveling back up to the Fort Wayne area (to another festival) in a couple weeks. He promised that it would be done.
Thanks to Linda, Judy and Eileen for the posts regarding my chiropractor/spinal block issue. I'm still not sure what I want to do but I need to decide soon. All the traveling this weekend has me in more pain today. I'll survive tho.
Well, better get some work done. Hope everyone has a great day!
Brotherly hugs,
Floyd
I am so thrilled to be on this forum. Y'all sound very much involved and willing to share so many things!
Today is Fall, and OMG that means Winter is around the corner! BRRRRRRRR.
I am just getting over a humungous cold/flu week. Brenda you take care! Lots of fluids!
Sounds like y'all are going to enjoy the day. I am babysitting today with my great-niece...6 months old. What a handful she is, but I only babysit for her once or twice a week.
Sunny thoughts and heartfelt prayers to all y'all!
Have a smiley day and rowdy night!
smooches,
Janene
