OT: Consignment shop questions

I did one consignment store here, called Large and Lovely, they took only large-sized clothing and did pretty well ... I had nice clothing compared to some of the other stuff in that place. They insisted everything come in on hangers and be washed, of course, and ironed ... the first time I brought stuff in, they rejected some because of cat hair, and I said, I brushed them and I can't get everything out. So after that, they took the stuff and did their own brushing. But I did OK, I think they took 40 percent. The stuff was on the rack for a month and then if it didn't sell, they marked it down; then if it didn't sell, you had to call or they'd donate it (which was fine with me because at that point, the stuff was all too big).

I did better on eBay, though. I wish I could do garage sales, but I can't here ... they don't allow them in the condo complex unless you are moving.
