I just got home from a boring day at the salon. I wish the snowbirds would come back. At least there will be some action at work.
I am off for the weekend. thinking of packing up the camping stuff and headingout.
I couldnt sleep last night either. Been thinking of things. I guess.
Not much else going on here. So I will talk more tomorrow.

Good afternoon everyone,
Carla, just wanted to let you know that we are at beautiful Chatfield camping this weekend and will go again next weekend as well. It's such a close retreat from work for us, DH and our two Shih Tzu's. Ah...What a life.
I do miss the cooking around the campfire bit though. However, I think I am getting close to the "trial and error" phase?
Anyways.....I wish all of you a restful but fun weekend. It's so good to read all your posts. To al those preparing for surgery, it really will pass by quicker than you think. However, I am still learning too. I still cannot get over how much energy I have now!

I was thinking of going camping at one of the Florida State Parks tomorrow, But I have to dig out the camping gear. Cant use the Motorhome yet cause it is being fixed. It is all torn apart cause the roof had to be replaced and the inside got all messed up. So they are redoingit.
I am thinking of a trip to Colorado soon to see Dr T. Will have to see what the fares are up to. I first have to pay for mykids ticket for Thanksgiving. Looks like December Ill be there.

Am new to this board - am 58 years old and scared and nervous, and excited to be having RNY on Nov. 5 in Utica, NY.
Have a hubby, 2 children and one wonderful 9 mth old granddaughter who I will be babysitting 2 days a week once I get back from surgery.
Loved reading about all of you and hope to be commenting soon.
Will enjoy learning about all.

Hi Sheri and welcome! I'm the same age as you (well, I will be in Dec.) and I am pre-op as well. This is a really great group of people. They are all very supportive.
Try and post earlier in the day on the "what's new..." section because I'm afraid many will not see your post since it came later in the day, and they won't know that you posted. Or, start your own thread (or whatever it's called) and introduce yourself to everyone.
Good to have you here. Are you going to Dr. Graber like so many other people from Ottawa?

I'm a night owl so I always look for those up late like me. I'm at work and waiting for a late story, so I thought I'd see who else had posted after me.
It's all right to be a little scared and nervous ... this is surgery and that's a big thing. But if all goes well, it's a wonderful journey you're embarking on. Four years ago, I was like you, just starting out ... and now I know it was the best decision I ever made. I'm 180 pounds lighter and I look in the mirror and don't recognize the person looking back ... but yup, it's the same Eileen, just one whole person lighter. Can you believe I was carrying around a whole person on me? No wonder my knees and back are so wrecked.
