Please clue in the clueless: what is the mystery box?

I keep seeing posts about the mystery box but I don't know what it's all about!  Help, anyone?

It is a box that was started by Darlene (I think).  She got a list of people that wanted to participate.  She started it with like 10 items in it.  It gets sent forward and each person can take as much as they want out of the box, but they must put the same amount in, so there is always 10 items in the box.  I have not received the box yet, but I am on the list.  I understand some of the items in the box are things you can buy at the dollar store.  Some may be unique to your area of the country.  It is not meant to break the bank for anyone, just sort of like a Secret Pal, but not secret I guess.

There is another one going that I think they are calling the Forever Box or something like that (I may be wrong), but it is supposed to be on going.  If you want your name added, you just let Darlene know (I hope I am right) and she sends posts something to add you to the list.

I may have screwed that all up, and if I did, Darlene, let me know and I will delete this post.  Thanks.

Your correct. Mystery box #2 is almost dead, just a few more people then it's back home.
The Forever Box has just started. The rules for it are a bit different, this one you will get a delivery confirmation when you post it so you can keep track of it. I'm not going to babysit this one.
This box has only 4 or 5 items it in, nicer quality...the same applies to it, how ever many you take out, you put back it. You also let the boards know what you kept...not what you put back in.....

If anyone wants to be added to this list, send me a private message with your mailing info....or if you want to be deleted from the list, send me a private message also....

This box  will go forever as long as their are people to send it too.....

I just noticed your ticker, and I wanted to say I am proud of you for being 8 years out AND still posting on this forum.  The WLS community needs more people like you.

Ya, Darlene's m "old" girl friend! First met her at the Hollywood OH convention in 04. I was the gal from Nebraska that the "California" gals took in. And the rest is history. She know so darn much it's scary??? She's a true friend! We have been through alot together. I love her to pieces...Beth

it is great that she still posts tho there are times when ppl seem to think she is too far out to know anything -- she has a wealth of  knowledge- a few other "oldsters" are out there (sandy ball comes to mind! a treasure trove!!!) lurking - they all have lots to offer but are not always appreciated!!!!!!!!! truly a shame.....

The FOREVER BOX is being mailed Monday morning.

You will see in my separate post that Ive had a bit of trouble sending the box over the border again but Ive solved the problem and handling it my own way! :}

I hope you enjoy getting the surprises as much as I did!
