Good Morning Donna and all,
Just time for a quick "write by" and then on to a busy day. All of the "finishing touches" are being put on the new home. Lots of last minute decisions about little things. I keep reminding myself that this is why I wanted to build our own home, but I'm about to the point of telling the builder "you decide!" Not quite but almost.
It's beautiful early autumn like weather here in south eastern Washington state. Cool in the mornings warming up to mid 80s by afternoon. Jeans in the morning, too warm by later afternoon.
Retired teachers lunch today. Mike and I taught at the same middle school; he for 31 yrs, me for 12. We were all young when we started; now retirees. We get together once a month for lunch. It's always fun to catch up with everyone.
Concrete retaining walls being poured this morning. They had to be "engineered" and reinforced with rebar. Hopefully they will be there to stay!
Sent Erin a message this am telling her Mike and I need some "hug and cuddle time" soon. Hope to go over and see them weekend after next. Told her we'll do anything as long as it involves hug and cuddle time. She and Josh can go out, shop, anything as long as we get to munch on those little cheeks! Hannah and Clara turned 6 months this week and are each almost 15 lbs. Chattering away to each other and anyone who will listen, rolling, rolling, rolling, trying to sit up (without success so far!) getting ready to start food! (Erin says "They'll be so messy!) Well, yeah. . . . My favorite pic of her is with sweet potatoes covering her from head to toe.
Gotta hit the shower. Congrats to all of those having surgeries this week. It's the start of a miracle for sure. Take care and do something nice for yourself and someone else!

I'm going to try to get in a little extra exercise today to see if that will help me sleep tonight, hopefully without so many meds.
I'm having a problem with grouchy neighborites - the lady next door. She is my age and is a kidney transplant patient and is on a lot of prednisone so I try to overlook her mood swings. But lately she has been a basket case!!!! She's pi$$ed with me right now because the man that cuts my grass cut about a foot of her grass. She cussed him out Monday including using the F word. Then last night around 7 when I went to the mail box one of her dogs started barking at me. She told him to be quiet then when she saw it was me he was barking at she SLAMMED her front door. Whatever chick. I'm not getting myself all worked up over this. What a B she has turned out ot be.
Well, better get started on my exercise. Hope everyone has a great day!!!!!!!!!

He was an angel, just cooed and smiled and slept all day.I coul dhave just eatten him up. When I took him back last night his dad says "Why didnt you keep him" grrr don't tempt me buddy.
Boss is grumpy again today and in and out so I have to get back to work, Have a blessed day!!
I had a few appointments right away this morning with clients and just got back home now. No time to even check in earlier.
Donna.....sorry you are having problems sleeping. I know when I was on Ambien before surgery it worked fine.....after surgery it made me restless and I was up doing weird things. I had a seizure and ended up in the ER. I will never take Ambein again!!! Your neighbor sounds wicked....I would ignore her too!!
George....thanks for thinking about me. I am still struggling with this sinus crud but am doing okay. Still pretty wiped out and this isn't helping. Send me some of that energy you have okay. I think it is great that you and Mary keep the granchildren so your son can get some rest. That is very thoughtful and I am sure he appreciates it very much.
Floyd....congtrats on getting the director coin....1 out of 100 people...that is awesome! You definately are doing your job right.
Judy....it makes me laugh when I read how excited you are about getting things for your new apartment. I am sooooo happy for you both!!
I am blanking out on who else I wanted to post to....CRS!!! I wish you all weel on whatever ypou are doing today.
I am just working until about 3:00Pm today and then going back to bed. I am still fighting this MN crud!!!
I hope you all have a terrific day!!
Prayers, love and hugs to all.......connie d
Long night at work ... almost checked in here before going to bed, but I spent so much time on the computer I didn't want to sit here again once I got home.
I had a review to do for the paper ... our reviewer went to a concert for the High Kings, an Irish band. She was also supposed to assign a photographer. Well, she got back and I started looking for photos. I asked Sue where the photos were; she said they should be there but maybe they got canceled because of McCain/Palin being in town. So I looked in the assignment basket and saw an assignment; went back to the photographers and asked about it ... one of the photographers said the assignment was for Sept. 18 (today) and not the 17th (yesterday, when the concert actually was). So we had no photos, just the stock photos sent in advance. So I was screwed ... had to try to fill a whole page without many photos. It kind completed a crappy night at work.
I was sleeping so blissfully that I slept til 11 a.m. ... boy, I zonked out! No problems sleeping for me ... I take neurontin, elavil, vicodin at bedtime. The air was fresh and cool and I was so tired. I slept much too long ... I had too much to get done today and didn't get all my shopping done as I wanted. I'll have to go out again tomorrow.
Looking forward to the weekend and nothing to do but laundry and watch baseball/football ... finally got my dryer fixed. He came at 4:30 yesterday. But at least it didn't cost me anything.
Pat, have a great vacation.
