Morning Donna and everyone
What a glorius morning here in Ala.  Kinda cool out , seems like fall to me a bit . I slept so good last night , so sorry you didnt Donna.  I did 30 min of areobics though and that always gets me .
I juat started reading a new book called Septembers Song ( mid life couples ) and it is a wonderful read.
Got me to thinking about life more.  Most of us here are in the fall of our lives I think as winter is the last years but then stats show that most folks are more content and happy in the later years so maybe this is OUR Spring ....
Anyway , I know it takes so much less to make me happy now it seems .
Today will be a good day as I have to do a good deed again. :)  Yesterday , I didnt come across anyone to do one for so at 230 I was out of the office and ran across some really good looking cupcakes lol   I bought them and took them back to the ofifce, You would have thought I too in GOLD as they were gone in a flash ....
I hope everyone is having a good week so far ,,, I am thinking on my BEST beef recipe for Monday and have it already ,,,:)
Hope all of you have a really good Thursday
Hugs

Good morning all, sorry about those who have sleep problems....once in a while I can't get to sleep but usually get a good 7 hrs every nite.

George, I swear (not really) you have the energy of a
20 yr old! Sure makes a big difference with those lbs. gone, doesn't it! I know I have tons more energy.

The suitcase is filling up.....one more load of laundry this afternoon and I should be ready to go. I am so excited for this trip and also getting to meet Annette in person on
Saturday. Steve is coming tonite to stay over and then we
will leave bright and early tomorrow morning. I have lists
all over the house of "stuff" to do before we leave....lol

Hopefully the motels we stay at will have internet access
so I can check in once in a while.

Off to work this morning ..... last time for two whole weeks......yeah!

My junk eating took over yesterday and I was horridly bad.
Well, today's a new day and looks like protein shakes
would be a good idea for breakfast and lunch. I need a
head adjustment!!

Talk with you all soon....

Morning Donna and all,

Sorry to hear you're having troubles sleeping.  I've been waking up in the middle of the night, but just long enough to look at the time on the alarm clock and back to sleep.  I've been so tired lately that I don't have any problems sleeping.

George....great to see another guy joining us.  Enjoy reading your posts.

The Director of our agency was here this week from Washington on his farewell visit.  He's retiring soon.  He presented Director's coins to some very lucky people.  They only awarded them to one person in every department.  My department has 100 people here in Indianapolis that could've gotten it.  I'm still on Cloud Nine for being the one selected.  A true honor to receive that award.

I had my appointment with the chiropractor to get the results of my exam and receive his 6 month plan.  He thinks he can help with my pain, but I'm not sure I can afford it.  He wants to start with 3 appointments a week for 8 weeks, then twice a week for 8 weeks, then once a week for 8 weeks.  It would cost about $3200 for six months.  Since none of it is covered by insurance, I'm not sure what I'll do.  I think I'll go ahead and schedule the spinal block to start.  The pain has gotten so that I hardly drive anymore, especially longer drives.  Poor Brenda will have to do all the driving to Frankenmuth.

Well, I guess I should do some work.  Hope everyone has a great day.

still not sure if i can make frankenmuth darn it!!! all the moving and then the car plates and licences and i have to have my car fixed $300.00 money is just tight no matter what!!! but still working on trying to go!!!!

Hi Floyd,
I felt compelled to write as I have long experience with lumbar and neck pain.  I started doing the multiple chiropractor appointments without much relief.  Then I developed sciatica after another back injury that became severe and was finally relieved with a shot in the spine.
Finally I've found a chiropractor that doesn't require 50 adjustments for progress.  One appointment two or three times a year keeps me fairly straightened out.
Everyone is different but if I had it to do again I'd try the spinal block first and then look for a chiropractor to do a few adjustments if necessary.  Then If no major relief, look for another chiropractor.
Good luck and blessings, Carmel Valley Linda

Floyd:

I get the spinal blocks (or mine are lumbar facets actually ... steroids, anti-inflammatorys and painkillers) ... and you can get them every three months. I think they do a world of good for me. They're expensive and I wouldn't get them if insurance didn't pay for them. But then I also do the chiropractor in between (my insurance pays for that too). If the pain is that bad, I think the spinal block will help you, Floyd.

Donna,

First off, thanks for starting the thread this morning.

Sorry you couldn't sleep but it sure looks like you beat a permanent sleep with those drugs!!

Already been to $4 today.  Had to come back home to make sure I turned the iron off.  Now I'm headed to the office.  It took me 55 min yesterday.  Usually can make it in 45... guess there was traffic.

Saw Pam Wooddell last night. She's here for a conference.  She's well, looking good, life is settling down and she finally has that long-awaited grandbaby, Sept 5.  This is an interesting story.  They tried and tried and she lost 4 or 5 around 16 weeks... doctor's were baffled.... but kept trying.  She is from Chile and her brother is a doctor down there... a doctor friend of his was hearing the story about 'trying again' and he mentioned to her brother that perhaps her blood was too thick.  So with an interpreter they called her doctor and talked with him.......he said he had not thought about her blood thickness.... so he put her on Heparin, two shots a day....and that did the trick.  Her blood was too thick to go through the umbilical cord and the other babies starved to death.  SUCCESS this time!!!

Janet, that happened to Bill's cousin's daughter. She had miscarried 6 times and finally got her baby who is almost a year old now. She was a few months early but now she is just growing right along. She had a twin but that one miscarried too and it is just Jessica. This is the only one they are going to have since she had a lot of problems with the pregnancy. I would have took the baby and run too. I am so glad that they got their baby. They are truly heaven sent, that's for sure.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
