Cheap dinner on the run from fast food
When ever I sleep too late in the afternoon and don't have time to get a full meal together, I have a quick solution.
When I leave the house for work, I have to bring two meals with me, since I leave the house at 3PM, return at 7AM. When in a hurry, I grab a can of pork and beans. Then I head to McDonalds. I get 2 grilled chicken patties, no bread, no lettuce, no tomato. I have them slice the patties like they were going on the salad. It seems every McDonald's charges different for this, but the one down the block from my house charges $1 each. I normally get BBQ sauce or Sweet and Sour sauce to dip the strips in. Works great for me, but I know the BBQ Sauce or S&S are not on the list for some of you. I am fortunate, I can eat almost anything.

God bless you for saying that. I know that is how it is. I can tolerate the sauce, plus I am trying to maintain. Keep losing a little, then gain a little, which is fine by me.

Hi George, that sounds like a plan. I would never have thought of ordering grilled chicken au naturel. When I have no other choice but to eat fast food, it's Wendy's chili or a grilled chicken salad from any fast food place. I love to cook, and always have lots of leftovers. My solution for quick lunches to grab for work is putting leftovers in 1/2 cup and 1 cup containers on the freezer door. I open the door in the morning, grab and go. I have a stash of chili beans, spaghetti sauce, meatballs, BBQ chicken, vegetable beef soup... The power outage during Gustav diminished my supply - but I was able to salvage several of my lunches.
