It's Tuesday!!!! - What's new?

LOL George,
I think we all had hard jobs at times..  I missed the mil so much after retiring , I had never been a civilian . My father was in the Airforce... Mil brat all the way around.
Both my sons grown now, went in the Army as well but didnt make a career out of it ,,,
I posted the recipe for Brushetta below...I have SO Many and love trying new stuff..

Shirley, yes please share your recipe.  I collect cookbooks and recipes.  George (my hubby) says we could have a home cooked meal three times a day for the rest of our lives without having the same thing twice.

Ike came thru our part of the world on Saturday night and did a lot of damage. lots of trees uprooted and houses damaged. our elect has been out till last night. man are we ever spoiled anymore without elect it is like what in the world did they do ? i guess like we did went to bed at dark and got up at daylight lol.
our house wasnt damaged at least and all is well and back on track this morning.
Now have to get back to work outside and clean up more mess. flowers are blown over and smashed into the ground so i guess it is time to do clean up there. it is only 43 degrees here this morning and im putting on my wind suit to go walking ....talk to you all later.

Oh Jan not your beautiful flowers...sure hope they rebound, but then I guess it is also getting to the end of the season for many of them.....gla you are okay and your home was not damaged.

Hi all.  A busy week here.  Our DIL is in FL with our daughter, for the week.  Our daughter has business conferences all over the country.  Sometimes her husband goes with her, sometimes she takes me.  This time, she took her sister in law.  That means we have the grandsons.  They really are no problem, they are 17 and 15, and Donny has his own car, so I don't have to take them to and from school and practices.  They are responsible enough to get up on time in the AM.  I just give them breakfast (hot homemade blueberry muffins), do their laundry, feed them after school snack (that happens whether Kim is home or gone), then dinner.  I do the dogs in the AM before I go to the gym, the boys take care of them in the afternoon and before bed.  Donny is pretty miffed that his Mom wouldn't let them stay home alone, but at least this way they are eating.  Plus, one of them has swimmers ear and needs drops 3 times a day, the other one has a knee problem from football, and has to do PT exercises 3 times a day.  It is a REAL struggle to get him to do them at least ONCE a day!  This is Kim's last "girls only" time before our son gets back from Iraq next month.       So I  am off to let the dogs out at 4:30 AM.  Off to the gym for 30 to 45 min.  Home and feed my DH, make muffins for the boys.  Be sure they only hit the snooze button ONCE.  Put in drops, nag about PT exercises and wave them off to school (do you have your backpacks, lunch money, etc).  Do laundry, clean house (lots more with 2 teeneagers here, but they DO make their own beds), do my computer.  My DH and I have our main meal at lunch, so do that.  Give snacks at 3:30, ear drops and nag about PT exercises.  Then they are off to practices.  Dinner for them around 6, smaller meal for DH and I.  Ask about homework.  TV, they do dogs, more ear drops more PT nagging.  Fall into bed at 9 or 9:30.  No time to snack, so that is good!

I have a busy day today....Continuing Ed class at 8:30am and then I need to go to the hospital to be with a friend who is going through some medical tests for a brain tumor. She is such a lovely person and doesn't really have anyone to support her in the way of family. She likes me to be with her when doctors talk to her so that I can help her remember what they say.

Then I have to show condos at 3:30 and then meet with a builder at 5:00 pm....also have oodles of paperwork stuff to do.

I sure hope I have enough energy left to work out this evening. I carry my bag in the car with me to make me "everready".

ps I never eat veal as I have to drive by too many little bitty pins for those baby calves, it makes me very sad to see them so confined...so I don't like to encourage them.

Not too much new.

Got a $30 parking ticket yesterday!!!! Parking in the crosswalk! Was no crosswalk I could see and was far enough from the corner I thought. We are all struggling everyday to find parking as we are building a new building and the lot is gone....I was pi**ed! People park where I was everyday! I have been parking there for 6 months. Sure makes me mad. There was a box where they could of checked $15 but NO! $30.

So...that's all for me...off to find a parking spot that isn't a mile away and legal. All the spots are 2-3 blocks away to begin with...I don't mind the walk but at the end of the day I am beat...
