What's new MONDAY????
Happy Monday everyone. Not much to report from California except we had great weather and that isn't exactly news. I had company for most of the weekend. We took the dog to the beach and watched movies at home and ate too much junk food. I really need to get on the diet straight and narrow now for surgery which is only a month away.
George, my father died of liver cancer also, very peacefully. Best wishes to all, expecially those affected by the wild weather. Know that you are lovingly supported, whatever challenges the week holds.

Aloha Off family.......George, thanks for starting the thread. I feel so sad for the loss of your friend. Cancer it seems just keeps on taking our loved ones.........and I can't understand why we haven't gotten a cure for it yet...with all the money that gets thrown at the problem...years of it! So sorry to hear about your friend.
It's Monday morning and I don't have to go to work today...yeah! The sun is just coming up, and the ocean is glassy smooth this morning. That means there is not a hint of a breeze which is very unusual for this part of the island. We have a thick layer of VOG from the volcano on the Big Island and a good breeze would blow that out to sea, but for now we just have to breathe it. Yesterday I tried sitting on the lanai in my swimsuit for some sun, and it was just too hot......had to come in and cool off.
I had a luxurious morning yesterday, doing "girly" stuff. After doing the laundry, I pampered myself with a hair coloring, finger/toe painting, trying on clothes, etc. I'm still stunned that I have several size 8 pants...jeans even.......but they slide on easily. I ended up taking two big bags of clothes to Savers that had grown too big for me. Came home with a few WARM clothes to take to Calif. in January when I go to babysit. I'm going to freeze my buns off in January in Calif!! Maybe I will stay warm by chasing little munchkins all day long!
The news is so full of Ike and his wrath.........makes me feel so sad and helpless. What can people do? Losing your home has to be one of the scariest feelings in the world. Our home is where we go to unwind, to regroup, to fill our tanks....and to not have it there when you return, has to be devastating.
Here's hoping most of you are safe and sound. It's a new week......lets hope it is a good one!
Aloha nui loa,
