TerryT's message on the TMB.....
I hope she doesn't mind my reprinting it over here.... but since it's a public forum....
This is Terry's message:
I know the apts on Ferry Road just east of us are all gone. The apt/condos north and west of us burned to the ground. I suspect our house is either gone or uninhabitable. We have a friend with a travel trailer that has offered it up as temp housing; we know we are eligible for FEMA $$$$ so, right now it's wait and see when we can get back on the island.
Keep her in your prayers, she doesn't know what she'll be facing.

i think that the unknown is always so much worse than whatever the real deal is...terry has been in my prayers since i met her!!!!!!!!! she's a very special gal!!!!!!!!! thank you ,janet ,for sharing...
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margo,
It's a pretty safe bet that Terry is right. When we looked at the live pictures of the houses that were burning, there were entire blocks and the fire department couldn't get there because of the water. Fire trucks are like cars not boats.
I so hurt for her as she has a daughter that she shares a house with and a mother in an assisted living facility..... and they just cleaned out her house and kept some of her things.
Sure makes anything we face a little smaller today, doesn't it?

Many prayers and good thoughts for Terry. So many of my coworkers are still struggling with insurance, FEMA, Road Home, etc., with claims and assistance since Katrina. Now several areas of LA were hit just as hard and in some cases harder by Ike. Our son had water in his street from Ike, luckily it did not reach his house.

Janet, I just wanted to let you know that Terry remains in my prayers. I pray that God gives her the wisdom and knowledge of what to do and the comfort of His loving and healing arms for her emotionally. This is such an emotional time for them and they remain always in my prayers. It just has to be devastating for them. I know that FEMA is coming here also but they work sometimes so slow and it takes so long to get anywhere with the government. Thanks for posting what you did.
Aloha Janet...and thanks for the update on Terry. I keep seeing pictures of Galveston and they are unbelievable........everything flat, except for a house here and there. Seems to strange for fires to destroy so many things when it is pouring down rain!
My heart goes out to all of those affected by these monster hurricanes. So very sad. I hope they find their way back soon.
Aloha nui loa,
