OT : what do you consider an excellent movie?

"It's a Wonderful Life" and "Miracle on 34th Street".  What can I say, I'm from another generation!   Now, I like anything that makes me laugh.  But I'm not fond of hearing the "f" word every 5 minutes.  And I like good clean - "National Treasure", "Night At The Museum".  ALMOST anything with Will Smith.

I have a few all-time favorites- "A River Runs Through It", "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles", and "Young Frankenstein".

Grammylew, we're in the same generation, as I love those 2 movies also.

All time fave that makes me laugh no matter how crummy I feel is 'My Cousin Vinny'........  "What is a Yoot?"  My Italian roots, I guess.  Plus as far as I know, it's the only movie that Pesci stars in that he's not a gangster.

I'm with MillieJ.. ."Hidalgo" and the "Lord of the Rings".... I have the DVD's but if the movies are on I have to stop and watch; and my avatar is Shadowfax....  I love horses and Viggo's not so bad either.  Another one of my all time favortites is "Enemy Mine".  I also love "Dr. Zhivago".

I am a sick man, but my two favorite movies are Joe and Billy Jack.

More recently, I probably liked Usual Suspects best. 

I also enjoyed Matchstick Men, even though it got bad ratings.

Going to see Bangkok Dangerous and the new Pacino/DeNiro movie.

I love "Shirley Valentine" and "Harold and Maude" and "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" and...there are too many to list.  Diane
