Aloha Sweet Sister Susan!

HAPPY HAPPY SURGIVERSARY!! Seems like I just had mine.....oh, I did! We have a lot in common, and I appreciate you for helping me with some of my "issues" around losing too much weight.

I am SO GLAD that you didn't have too much damage from Ike. That guy was ruthless!

Now back to my laundry.......and my protein shake with blended peach, pear and banana! My computer is really really slow this morning....but I had to respond to a couple of things even if it took a half hour.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Too bad we're not closer than cyberspace.  A dual anniversary shopping spree would have been soooo much fun!

Ahhhhh, someday

love and hugs

Happy Surgiversary (my brother calls it my gastriversary ... he can figure out when he adopted his cat by when I had my surgery. I can figure out when we got our new presses and redesigned our paper by the date ... same time).

Happy Surgiversary to you dear Susan!

It has been a pleasure to know you for the past year. You are such an inspiration and I have learned so much from you. Thanks for being in my life now and always.

I understand what you are saying about the people on this board being here for you through it all. I feel the same way and I will never forget everything that I have learned from you and everyone.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

It is warm and humid here today. Feels good to me.

Nothing interesting happening - just checking in to see what everyone else is doing.

very warm very humid very uck...am still having a personal /mental/emotional meltdown..... i know that i need to pick up my spirits and move on but i also know that i have had this coming a long time....i keep praying...i know that God is there with us and i really think it's time for a break in the bad stuff...and when i get whiney i keep thinking about all of the ppl with things so much worse and who am i to complain and yet....geezzzz...sorry- you are all so wonderful to listen!

went to grandson's birthday party yesterday-entirely too many gifts for a 3 year old.....was great to see him and his fast growing sister!(she'll be 1 nov 1st)....also my son, my daughter and my eldest granddaughter !!!

i ended up buying aidan a 1 gal empty paint can. decorated the outside with foam letters of his name and smiley stickers and filled it with lots of stickers/foam pieces/ foam door hangars to decorate/ Rose Art brand animals that have markers in them and make noises!/ crayons/markers/elmer paints with a brush/color books/ a sketch pad and etc..also bought him a pack  of potty pants and a book with a chart and stickers..he loved it all..but was quite overwhelmed with the amount of "stuff" he got from everyone-

my ex was there with his wife- they are selling their (our) house and he is trying to get michael and i to buy it--i loved the house-but honestly i don't think i could live in it now! and the minor detail that ours isn't sold here!!!!

applied online for another job- i think that bank one is gone and they just hadn't pulled it yet -will hold out hope that they may look at my app tho! the other job would be back in retail and would be a great challenge to me and i would love it! tomorrow at work will not be pleasant but i must go..they still do pay me so i must go earn that check!

well- needing to hit the stores for dog food and tylenol today -and i think paint for the front of our house - i think we are changing the color and it scares me...and have to pick up prescriptions etc....

so hugs and prayers ....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi Deb and my OFF family:

Yes, it's raining here still. It let up for a few hours yesterday but then started up again last night ... I heard thunder (or thought I did ... or maybe it was wind) late last night while I was in bed watching the end of one of the ballgames on the West Coast. I was dozing and it woke me up. Kind of dozed on and off in bed ... I was dozing in my chair and I had candles burning so I thought that wasn't a good idea, so I blew them out and went to bed.

Deb, I understand about spending a whole day in the rain. One Saturday at state track meet, it poured the whole day ... they postponed the start of the meet, but finally started it and it kept raining all day. I had a trash bag on to keep me somewhat dry, but didn't really help ... had to try to take notes somewhere; I would drag the kids under the stands or somewhere to interview so I could write down things and even then, my notes were smeared. Finally, the photographer and I left before the end of the meet to get back before deadline ... we got back and found out that this little Class B girls had won the meet basically with one girl winning a lot of events and a couple relays winning ... we hadn't counted on that! So I had to scramble to get ahold of these kids to get quotes. Kind of embarrassing. We were so soaked, his car was wet, my clothes were wet, my notebook was wet (so I couldn't read some of my quotes very well and had to fudge some stuff (I could read some of the quotes but had to add in a few things I could remember ... good memory helps ... that's when I was younger). I was shivering for at least a day after. After that, I got a raincoat.

Not much going on here. Probably going to watch baseball/football ... whichever games are on, depending on weather. The White Sox are supposed to play a doubleheader, but it's raining in Chicago too, so that's doubtful again. Don't know when they'll play these games, because they have to play them, they're critical to the playoffs. It's not helping the Sox chances that they keep getting rained out.

I want to finish up these blueberries in the frig before they go bad so I may make some blueberry muffins. I have to do some laundry but I have to hang it around the house because I still don't have a working dryer ... maybe this week once the appliance service contract kicks in.

Cheryl, there's some brand of flax seed bread my friend Bruce had me try in Texas ... don't quite remember the brand but it was called Men's Bread and you find it in the freezer section. It was good but for some reason flax seed wreaks havoc on my digestive system. I can't handle it. Gives me the runs. Has lots of seeds and nuts in.

Well, I should get some lunch, my coffee's about run out. Have a good day. Stay dry.
