Good Sunday morning all!  I just woke up from the couch and am heading to bed!
Sleep study done Friday night, tech feels I will be getting treatment of some sort from sleep doc.  (well, um, yeah, that's why I am here!)
Had the Dog Days of September event today and it poured thru the whole time.  we set up in the rain, walked on soggy saturated grass, feet wet, heck, EVERYthing was wet!  By the time we left a mere 3 hours later (only 1 hour after the event started) we were all wet to the skin.  Came home and took a HOT bath!  then the weather turned hot and steamy.  Just as glad we weren't there honestly!  My car seat was so wet when I tried to drive someplace HOURS later my clean pants got wet!  and that was just from me sitting in the car on the way home in wet jeans.  brrr!
Well, I'm heading to bed now, talk amoungst your selves and I'll pop back on later!  Have a good Sunday and sending special thoughts to all in Ike's way!

Good soggy Sunday morning......I can't remember when we've had so much rain.....it just poured all day yesterday
and it's raining yet this morning....and it's 72 degrees and humidity of 100%. I turned the a/c on because it was
hard to even breathe in the house. Some of the local stations said we could get as much as six to ten inches total.

I just went down and checked my basement and yep I have a few puddles down there. The roof on this house
badly needs to be replaced, but the owner doesn't have
the money right now...so yesterday when I was in the garage I noticed one of the ceiling tiles was hanging down
and yep!, it was dripping wet. A lot of stuff in the garage
got wet, but nothing of any value.....I put a pail under the
drip and will tell the landlord today.

Otherwise a good day to stay put after church.....I badly need to get some stuff at Wal Mart but I'm not going to
get wet doing it! Fortunately I can park near the back
entrance at church so that's not a problem getting in w/o
getting wet.

Off to have a bite of breakfast now.....stay dry everyone!

Pat R.

P.S. does anyone else have tiny black "flies" in your house?
Their not fruit flies, as I have nothing sitting out that could cause them......just wondered cause their all over my house.

Pat,

I had that problem myself and found that they are actually some type of flying beetle that was in the dog bones that Walmart sells (Ol Roy brand)  I like to never got rid of them.  They like anyghing with flour or meal in them.   I had to thow out a lot of stuff and start over.  It was awfull.  I will never buy those dog bones again.

Hi Pat,
Whenever I have had little black flies, not fruit flys either, I have searched and searched and usually find something rotten, ususally potatoes. I used to keep mine in this little bin and boy, after a couple of times of forgetting I had them I don't keep them there anymore.
Hope you find the source or cause.
Cheryl

Thanks Vera and Cheryl.....these seem to be concentrated
around the drains in the sinks.....I just put some baking
soda/vinegar down the kitchen drain ....maybe something is stuck in the disposal..

Good Morning Debbie & My OFF Family,

What a humid day here on the east coast, it's a return to summer and not one of those days you like, but I am going sailing on my friend, Diane's friends sail boat with her and another friend of ours, so hopefully we will have some relief on the ocean today. . .

Well I had a nice visit with my cousin's, though traffic when I went to pick up my one cousin in NYC on Friday was a nightmare, grrrrrrr, I left my house at 1ish and we didn't arrive to my other cousin's in the Pocono's until 8 p.m., but the three of us made a call to my Uncle Joe and spoke with him, his spirits seem high and he is ready to give it his all, so please keep him and his nuclear family in your prayers for his upcoming chemo and radiation treatments, thankfully everyone is concentrating on the 20% that the doctors said this aggressive treatment will give him.

Anyway, I'm off to get ready for my sailing adventure, when I get home it will be time to get things prepared for my work week and then make my evening AA meeting, so I hope you all have a wonderful day doing whatever, hope you stay cool as we get a reminder of summer today!

Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen

Good Sunday morning to all of my little sweeties.

It isn't even sunrise here yet. I guess we are suppose to get more rain (what would our life be life without it?) and hence more flooding. We have already gotten around 8" and still more coming. I talked to my cousin last night and he told me that he has a flooded yard and about 5" of water half way up his driveway. He is just praying that it doesn't come up anymore and it stays out of his house. There is just so much coming at one time it has no where else to go. I continue to pray for those in the way of Ike but also people around here with all of the flooding. There is just so much of it everywhere. I think after today we are suppose to see an end of rain until later on in the week. I pray that this is true. We shall see. I know that I have the air on too, since it is so hot and humid out. It was so nice and then bam it got so humid you could hardly breath. I guess a cool front it suppose to come through today too and that is wonderful. I get so tired of air conditioning. I am grateful that I have it but me real air to breath.

Nothing much to do today. I guess I should go to Wal Mart and get a few things since I did nothing yesterday. I am hoping that maybe later on the rain may stop and then I will venture outside.

I am not going to church this morning. I have felt like ick all day yesterday. I began to feel bad Friday night and yesterday was terrible. I thought that I was feeling better and then it came and never left. I have felt so sick to my stomach that I told Bill I feel like vomiting and he told me that maybe that is what I should do to feel better. EEEHHHH! I have never been one that could do that. If I did you know that I am ready to crawl into a corner and just die. If I am sick enough to do that I just want to be left alone to die. haha I was getting so hot even with the air on that I would just start to sweat with no reason. I never checked my temp~are you kidding? That would be to easy. I didn't eat much yesterday at all. I told Bill that even if I was feeling better this morning I wasn't going to church. I don't need any more and I certainly don't need to be passing around whatever this is. I am positive that the church will remain standing. Besides I have an important meeting on Tuesday and I have to be feeling better by then.

Misty is just loving the open spot that I now have in the living room. She just gets in the middle of the room and starts rolling all over and then she lays down and stretches out. I have never seen her lay like that at all since I got her. She is changing as she ages. I have noticed that lately and Bill has too because he mentioned it to me that other day. She isn't wanting to play with her shiny toy on a stick anymore either. It use to be that she would come and beg for you to play with her with that thing. Of course that is going to happen when I bought one with a long handle and 3 things to attach to it when you want to change it. She just likes the shiny papers to play. It was that she would play for hours with that thing and now it is just a few minutes. Ahhh, I guess this is just a home of all of us growing old together. haha

I suppose I should get going. I want to take a shower and maybe get out of my nightgown. That is more than I did yesterday. I feel right now that I could live in the nightgown. Maybe I would feel better if I got clothes on for a change. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up today as they do every day for all. Special ones are said for those in need of them. I am so glad and grateful for the fact that God knows what our special needs are. Have a wonderful day and stay safe and dry. I don't think either thing is something easy to do.

Good Morning Debbie and all,

I am sitting here having my usual coffee and toast but not my beloved flax seed toast as wal mart has stopped making it! So for the past four days I have tried my hand at making a healthy satisfying bread I could use as a substitute. I have had 4 *&*%#@!! loafs so far! I am a terrible bread maker! I have made one everynight and every morning have woken to a failure!!!! So that's what I've been up to the last few days.

Today Beth and I are going "school shopping" and we take her to her dorm next Saturday. Thank you, Lord! And I mean that sincerely. Love her love her and will miss her but...mama needs her empty nest back!

I feel guilty to tell you that we have another beautiful day ahead. I am thinking of all of you with the rainy, humid stuff and especially those in the storm. Hoping the weather soon gives you all a break.

I mentioned a week or two ago that I had my engagement ring resized. Well, last Sunday, one week after picking my ring up at the jewlery store, I was sitting in church, looked down at my hand and saw that one of the baget diamonds on the side of the solitare was gone! Took it right back to the jewelry store and they had to fix and replace for free. When I picked it up the first time I told the guy that the prongs they were also supposed to fix sure didn't look fixed to me and he just blew me off...also when I asked for my receipt he said I couldn't have it, Huh??? So I asked for a copy. When I picked it up this week, I told the lady that waited on me what happened and I said Ya know you guys were lucky it was just the baget and not the solitare that fell out and told her what happened. She said he wasn't long for that store and that she appreciated I told her. By her facial expression and tone and all I could tell he was a pain in the butt to them...

My what a long story...sorry, I don't know what got into me, I don't usually go on and on about stuff like that. Must be all the crappy healthy toast I have had to eat this week.

Have a lovely Sunday,
Cheryl
