got the electric bill ready for us to be turned on the 29th so we can start moving in!!! starting to make progress in moving out...next is finding out about which internet service we can use and also cable service...so far they told me the extended basic cable and internet would be about 95 a month with 25 installation...seems high to me...also a dish for cable and internet would be about the same price...still seems high to me...have to look into it more on my day off next week.

I have cable for my phone, t.v. and internet. I pay about $150.00 a month for all of that. I had dish and I hated it. I got a lot of channels but if the wind blew for a second the dang thing went out. I hated that~especially when I had something that I was waiting to watch. lol That happened the first day we had it. I should have known then but no~Bill had to have it. I finally told him why are we paying for something that we never get to see. With the weather around this area (and your's in similar) I never got to watch anything. Just my opinion though............

hi branda...wow that seems like alot topay for your cable and all...i guess i am not looking at it right...lol combining the cable and internet is all we want because we have cell phones...so have to make some calls thursday when i am off...yeah i haerd that the dish goes out easy around here...no we sure don't want that....lol

See if AT&T offers a bundle with internet, phone, long distance and TV in your area ... they've just started offering the TV. Don't know what they charge but because it's new you get some deals; don't know how good it is either. I get my basic cable through the condo association and then pay $43/month for digital plus one extra package (very basic digital, I get Encore movies), but you guys might want more. That's through Comcast. I get my phone/long distance/dsl Internet through AT&T and that's running about $95/month. Shop around.

hi eileen...yes we have at&t here not sure the prices yet...plus i amnot sure if the apartment complex offers any deals with what they have installed there or not...have to call and see...

Congrats on your move. It can be very stressful. TV and phone services are like WLS, there are lots of options. Do your research, find out what is best for you (price and features) and go for it. We have internet DSL/phone/unlimited long distance from Embarq for $84/mo. We have DirectV, for $145 a month. That is for EVERYTHING, all movie channels, networks, locals etc. with a TiVo and 4 other receivers (oh, we don't have like the sports "tickets"). We have had sat TV for 20 years. We began with one of those HUGE dishes with an actuator and you dialed in your sat and it searched the sky for it! And we got networks from 3 time zones, so could star****ching the 8 PM shows at 5 PM (when we were in OR). Ah the good old days. The only time we lose signal is if there is MAJOR rain storm, and it has never lasted more than 15 min. We get networks from east and west coast. So if a program we are watching gets interrupted, we set the TiVo to record it from the west coast feed later. Also, we have been through 2 hurricane winds here, and LOTS of wind in OR and we have NEVER lost signal because of the wind. I guess our equipment is anchored well. If you go with a "bundled" special, be sure you know what the charges are when the special runs out.

thankyou!!! we are excited about moving soon!!! from what we have heard from others around here the dish is nothing but trouble...always going out...so not sure what or where we will go have to make some calls and see who has best prices...glad you aren't having any problems with yours!!

Congratulations on getting your new pad! I know you are excited. I can't tell you much about the cost of the cable/internet/phone because first, I am in RI and not sure our east coast prices would compare with yours. And 2nd, because my DH works for the cable company as an IT manager for New England, and we get a deal. But I hope you can find something that suits your budget. Those first few months of getting moved and settled are sort of expensive. Hope all goes well for you. I am envious that you get to decorate...I love that part of moving!

thankyou!!! we can't wait til the 29th so we can move out....lol must be nice having discount for your cable....LOL i am going to start calling around and see what the best prices are for us...just want something thats good yet affordable ya know...yeah we are having fun looking at things for OUR place!!! can't wait for the holidays to get here woohoooo
