He did mention he'd like to go fishing as there are not many more fishing trips left in him.  I guess not, he'll be 83 next month.  I don't think there will be any one replacement.  The other docs will try to cover some of the consultative work, but for the most part, our clients will have to find another consultant.  The old guy did know his stuff!  Gotta give him credit for that.

 *~*~*~*~*~*~*   OHHHHH   HAPPEEEE  DAY......

Amazing how timing is.  I'm sooo happy for you.  I wondered if he was "sick".  Meaning he was mentally losing his faculties.  Some ornery people its hard to tell with.    Maybe you could give him a copy of those 11 typed pages of comments for a going away gift...  LOL     Millie

No Millie, he's been a crotchety old man during his entire career from what I've heard.  As of late, he has been slipping a bit.  I realize he has problems at home with his wife's ill health, but golly, I tried to help him.  There were many mornings I'd bring him meals I cooked so he wouldn't have to go home and cook their dinner.

Isn't it strange how things work out? Here you were seriously thinking of resigning and then bam he announces his retirement. God does work in mysterious ways~His wonders to perform. I am so happy for you. I know this is something that you have wanted for so long. Ask and you shall recieve~but in God's time.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Debbie,
I haven't heard such good news in a long time.  It's just miserable working at a place where you have to put up with that type of behavior.  I'm so happy for you!

I was so excited yesterday, I emailed George with just the words "News @ 6" and kept him guessing.

How wonderful! Maybe you should give him your typed pages of inappropriate comments as a retirement present. Thanks for leaving, boss, I'm happy to see you go. Boot to the head (or further down) out the door!
