Margo,

It is hard to buy for the kids who have everything. Melanie just turned 3 but the same type of toys would probably work for a boy. I am thinking of her favorite toys.
*Fingerpaints
*Crayons and coloring books
*Bubbles - especially with a battery operated bubble blower
*Bath tub toys - she love bath crayons, special for the bath & can be hard to find
*Puzzles - she discovered they are loads of fun
*Magnetic numbers and alphabet to use on the fridge
*Watercolors -
*Chalkboard and chalk
*Stickers and sticker books

Have you noticed a theme here? Mommy and Daddy provide the educational things but she likes the messygetyourhandsdirty stuff best.

Have fun - he will be so overwhelmed it won't really matter to him.

Kisses

Sorry, can't help even though I have two grandsons 6 1/2 and 5.  Mine are different as night and day, the older one being more the intellectual type who likes books, music, board games, etc., and the younger one more athletic - balls, bats, fishing stuff.  We give each of them a savings bond for b'days and a little something to unwrap.

Is there something unique to your area that you could get from a museum or a shop ... books or coloring books or t-shirt or something like that? I'm a big advocate of books ... my two grandnephews get a lot of toys and I'm the aunt who gets them books. I think coloring books are fun.
