my grandson turns 3 today-tomorrow is his party-
he has everything Thomas the train and spongebob (party theme )and Cars...he is in need of really nothing -he and his folks are temporarily living with his mommy's parents due to job relocation so he doesn't even have all of his toys but needs for nothing...daddy (my son) suggested a savings bond-ok fine but -no fun for a 3 yr old!
he does need a few pair of big boy undies as they are trying to potty train- ok- so i can do that but it;s no fun....what can nonnie get to have him open and have fun??????

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

In my experiences with my grandson here is my suggestion. Being he is in transisiton mode with moving and living with someone else, how about a nice stuffed animal, medium size, that he can hug and love and it can be a bit of security for him. My grandson is 7 now and he still takes his stuff to bed with him as he has had lots of moves and new starts in his life. He also has a special blanket he uses to fall asleep with and hug.....

Aqua-doodles and fun and help with their artist genes.......

I don't have kids or grandkids, but I have 10 neices and nephews that I'm very close to and when they were that age, they loved to build things. Legos (the bigger style blocks) were a big hit. You can always help him build something with them - allowing you to spend some time with him. Also, DVD's were always a big hit. They watch the same show/movie over and over again - it drives you crazy!!!

all good ideas...the gift of time would be the most wonderful since we live so far away ...just getting to the 2 hour party is going to be an adventure in itself....

this child has about any toy made- the ones he doesn't have are the ones not made yet....and his mommy is a kinder care director so the edcuational aspects are pretty much taken care of...as well as grannie and grampa are educators....

dvd's- again- the ones he doesn't have  harve yet to be made... can we say spoiled????????

i guess i'll just have to look til something hits me right...

i do appreciate all of the ideas...stuffed animals are oput due to allergies and his perfect grannie on the other side has made him blankets etc--and pretty much insists which ones are used while there.....there is more to this than is  being said.....

for my 3 year old grandsons birthday , i bought him 6 pair of different super hero underpants and a sticker system for when he went to bathroom....he was thrilled for the picture underpants. lol who would have thought but i didnt know what to get him either. oh yeah i ran across a whole big box of matchbox cars at a garage sale cost was 5.00 for about 100 dollars worth of cars. i brought them home and checked them all out put them back in the box and wrapped it. you would have thought i spent a fortune on him. lol

Hi Margo

My grandson , who just turned 3, loved the big trucks I got him.  (One was a crane, the other a dump truck). Tonka trucks will last forever and provide endless hours of fun.   I also got him a tshirt with Elmo on it, as Elmo has been his favorite Sesame Street character for awhile.

He also likes playdough, and transformer action figures.
