Congratulations on your accomplishment so far. You are off to a great start. I know that is exciting but this excitement is only a smidgeon of what you are going to begin to feel in a week. The ride that you are going to start is a wild one but such a fun and exciting one too.

Keep us posted and don't forget to ask any questions you have. That is what we are here for and there is someone who can answer any that you have.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Thanks Brenda!  I'm excited to have these 11 gone forever!  I can't wait for the rest of the ride to begin.

Good job.  Take it from me, I started my pre-op diet August 31 and have surgery  Monday Sept 15.  The remaining time you have on the diet will go by fast, one thing I noticed is that I was not hungry at all, especially when I cooked meals for my husband, guess it is sometimes the feeling you get no solid food, a mind game.    Don't let anyone tell you  it is difficult the last week-it isn't.  I have lost 15 pounds, especially in the chest area, and feel a lot better.  I can hardly wait for the rest of this fat to leave.  We were allowed to chew gum if we got  an uneasy feeling but  I didn't need to do that.   I made up my mind this pre-op diet would not interfere with my life--even went out to dinner with relatives--I took a  Dannon smoothier (we were permitted one a day) with me and drank that. Good luck in the coming week.   I will post when I get home and maybe give you some insight from personal experience about the task to be done.  Later--Sandra

Hey Sandra,

Thanks for your reply!  Congrats on losing those 15 pounds forever!!  I know you feel great.  I agree it has not been difficult with the rest of my family eating.  I have prepared breakfast, lunches, and dinners, but they don't phase me.   I have been luckily able to do 3 shakes and then a lean cuisine at dinner. So I am getting one meal, and I tell you, I SO look forward to it, but mostly because it is something salty, not sweet.  I just want that change.  But you are right, it has gotten easier as I've gone on and I am not worried about getting thru week 2.  Piece of cake (forgive the food reference).

I feel like I have learned a lot about what is going on inside my head as well.  And I know there is lots more to come with that, tho even in therapy, I always enjoyed the journey of Me.  I hope one day to peel off ALL the layers (physically and emotionally) and find that Buddha light inside that is the real me.  I know I am on the way.

Best of luck with your surgery on Monday.  I can't wait to hear all about your experience and compare notes with you when I get back.  It will nice traveling the road along with you!  Keep in touch!

Good job! This is exciting and gets better all the time. Stay focused, relax AND stay busy. Quite a feat but you will do it.

Thanks!  Yes, the staying busy part is helping a lot.  I don't work full time or even part time, but I do occassionally sub for two interpreters, and I was lucky enough to be subbing this week, as well as 3 days next week, which will help the time go by.  I'm so excited!
