Yahoooo!!!!!   I finally got my approval.  I will be joining you on the loosers bench on Oct. 8th for sure!!!!!  Now to get myself ready with buying protein drinks, vitamins, etc.  My Dr. said I have to go on the Atkins diet 2 wks prior to surgery. If anyone has any suggestions for me please respond at your convenience.

Cheryl, welcome to the loser's bench. Trust me there is always room for one more with no problem. The time is going to go so fast that your eyes are going to spin around.

I wouldn't buy to many protein drinks for after surgery because you are going to be surprised at how your taste is going to change. I didn't believe it, but it does happen. Things you liked before you may not like after. I had to go on a liquid diet 2 weeks before (with the exception that I could have cream of wheat and sf pudding) and then 2 days before it was clear liquids.

There is board on here that is the cooking and baking board and there is guy on there that is leaving the best low carb recipes on there that makes it sound like you are going to eat like you are in heaven. I haven't tried any but OMG they sound so good. That will give you some ideas on low carb which is what the Atkins diet is. I still watch the carbs more so than the calories. I just have a problem watching calories and carbs are so much easier for me.

Again, congratulations on the date that you begin your new and greatly improved life. You are going to just love it and probably wonder, like I did, why you waited so long. I was told that I had the surgery just when I was suppose to. It is the truth too.

You remain in my prayers.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hi Cheryl,
I've been lurking around but just not much time to post.  Husband had full knee replacement surgery on his right knee and I have become the servant.  LOL.  Actually, he was very supportive when I went through my cancer surgeries so I feel I owe him just as much support through his knee replacement.  I have to leave work in a little while to take him to therapy.  Of course work has turned into a crazy place lately so I'm under pressure to get things done there as well.

Congrats on your being below goal.  That is fantastic.  I've been on a stall and a little gain, but I'm so much better off now than I was, so I'm happy.

I hope to be able to contribute to the OFF board as soon as hubby is a little farther along in his recovery.
Take care.
Bev

Thanks everyone, I am looking forward to this new life and being able to do things with my grandchildren without being tired and just plain unable to play with them.  Hugs to all of you and keep up your good work and encouragement to others.
