Thanks for all your replys. Hopefully they won't be back to get what they ran off and didn't take.
I'm going to get some well deserved rest.
I'll be checking back in the morning.

Mary, I know that the violation you feel when someone takes things that belong to you (even if it copper pipes) is terrible. The feeling that you are feeling now must be worse since it would feel like the violation is toward your mom. I know I would. Just know that in the end they will get there's, and in the end they will get caught too. They may not be charged with the things they did to your mom's house but God knows and He will take care of it in the end. My prayers go out to you and your family going through the turmoil of feelings that you are experiencing selling your mom's home.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Oh Mary!

I am so sorry to learn this has happened!
Yes, unfortunately this is all too common, and very sad.  Worse thing is people do not want to get involved, even if it will be helpful.  What is this world coming to?  And it does seem that these crimes for the most part to go unsolved and they get away scott free.
I hope at least the insurance company will be able to cover the theft and the water damage.

Take care my friend.....

Mary,

So sorry to hear about this and people today are pretty desparate, those sort of crimes are up all over the place, sorry you had to be a victim of those thieves. . .

Hugs, Laureen

That is just horrible!! I can't see this kind of crime getting any better soon. The things people think to do so they don't have to work is awful!!

I hope your insurance covers the damage. My prayers are with you all.

Mary, I'm so sorry you are going through this.  BTDT!  Here the police are cracking down on the scrap metal dealers who buy the stoled goods, can't say that it's working, but at least they're trying to do something.  Shame on the neighbor for not calling the police.

Oh No, I am so sorry you have to deal with this with all the other things you  had to go through. Plus for a potentiel buyer it makes the area look unsafe.. At least hopefully the neighbors will be more aware now. Blessings

Mary,

Sorry to hear about the plumbing.  DO NOT repair it.  Report it to insurance and see what they will pay....but either give it to a buyer at closing to get it repaired or if the buyer's need it for financing, then make sure it's done the day before closing.if at all possible.

A Realtor can't be all over the place and I'm sure there was no way for her to know that it had happened.  I had two houses just today that had the copper plumbing stripped....and the wiring.  A/C outside units are the next thing.  Copper thieves are costing us a pretty penny.  We are self-insured so we pretty much have to eat the cost.

Chin up. The market's picking up.  You'll get it sold soon.
