Good Thursday all!
It's been ages since I started this THREAD, and as you probably know by now from my post last week, my life is a rollercoaster.  But, I need episodes of feeling grounded, so here I am.  My MIL was sent home from the hospital the other day, and my DH is staying there 24/7.  It is about 50 miles away, and he is drained (as are my DS and me).  The hospital said they can't do anything more for her and she refuses to go into a facility to care for her...plus the insurance is being bratty.  She is very nervous to be alone, even for 20 minutes, plus her health is pretty poor.  UGH...aging!!  But then again, 3 weeks ago, she was on a ventilator being given last rites.

My DS has been fighting some type of cold, or allergies or virus this week.  He and/or the school nurse has called me several times through the week.  So frustrating.  Always sends me into a panic when the caller ID says.."school nurse."  Yikes...never good news to say..."just calling to say your DS is feeling great!" Wouldn't that be nice!!!

Mary (Baseball Mom) and I have been "good girls" since we expanded our exercise/fitness regime.  Not only do we continue to walk for 1 1/2-2 hours/day, but now we go to Bally's and do about 2 hours of a work out.  We go 3 days a week, and really enjoy it.  Makes a big difference to have a workout buddy!!  It is actually quite fun.  My muscles have been talking back a little, but at least they seem happy.  Now if only the batwings would fly way!!  Next week I have a checkup with my surgeon...Friday is my 18 month postop surgiversary.  WOW...that is so hard to believe.  Anyway...we will be talking about plastics.  I have a whole a la carte list ready!!  Can't wait.  But of course, I may need to hit the lottery to be able to pay for it all.

Okee dokee...I have been a bit long winded here.  I will leave some board space for others.  So, to my dear sistahs who welcomed me back last week...thank you...you have warmed my heart.  For those of you newbies...I welcome you to the bench, and for those waiting for their surgery...prayers and wishes to you.  And to my friends on this marvelous forum who I haven't "talked" to for a while, I am anxious to get caught up with your lives...certainly drama exists outside of my 4 walls!!

Have a thrilling Thursday and I may be back later to check out this thread some more to get caught up on all of YOUR lives!

Hugs,
Lora                       POST AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps.... LET'S NOT FORGET TODAY IS 9-11.  REMEMBER THOSE WHO FELL VICTIM TO THE TRAGEDY AND PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY'S FIGHT FOR FREEDOM  &  SAFETY!

Hi Lora and everyone ... who follows after:

(I must be tired, I started by calling you Mary!)

Man, I thought I'd get on here first! I was checking my bank account to see if my payroll deposit was in ... it's not ... rats! I have an early appointment tomorrow and then want to do my shopping after ... the Meijer over there is better than the one here (it's bigger). I'll have to get up earlier to check it before I leave. I was going to just get up, shower, grab my AchievOne (yey! I have some again!) and run, but now I have to get up with enough time to do banking online before I leave.

Not much happening yet. The White Sox game was a bit too exciting for me tonight ... they were leading 6-0 in the 8th and ended up winning 6-5. I can do without that much excitement. I had to keep tabs on it from work because it wasn't on TV anyway, so I just finished up things at work ... I wound up doing the state page three times  (kept forgetting stories I needed to get on there, and had to redo the page); then I had to post a business story on the Web page. Got home and watched the end of the Dodgers-Padres game. Not quite as tired as I was last night, but I'm ready for bed. Just wish my money was in my account.

Lora, you are fortunate to have someone to exercise with ... I miss going to the pool. Just wish I good knees to exercise on! That was the idea of getting the knee replacement ... didn't work out quite like I had thought, though.

Oh well, off to bed I guess. I'll just check later this morning before I leave.

Have a good day.

ah yes...Sept 11th..how can we ever forget?  It still makes me cry when I see the TV clips.

I spent Wednesday running around...banking for us, banking for Mother, a business lunch, doing a review on a local place, dropping into the local newspaper office to chat (yes, its a small village here )

Ive arranged for a lovely HIGH TEA for all 25 of my sorority ladies for the Spring..it will be held on the verandah of one of my client's, Gloria, who runs an outstanding B&B, created and sent out flyers for my BPW dinner meeting in a few weeks.

Ive sold 2 dozen tickets for mother's retirement project at her community, a lovely handmade dollhouse.  and now Im collecting ladies to carpool for an hour to Burlington to attend a great ladies night event for charity called Kiss My Tiara!..dinner, motivational speaker, humour, gift bags, emtertainment, laughs and prizes..it will be a HOOT!

I got home and desperately needed a nap..soo sleepy...and my body was saying LIE DOWN! But the half-bushel of peaches was screaming louder..."use us now or we will go bad!! eeeeieiiii!"

So i changed into working clothes and spent the rest of my day in the kitchen...peach upside-down cakes - six 2-portion cakes- for mother..they were bagged for the freezer and she will have enough for the winter...one of her favourites.    Then six 2-portion peach crisps..already frozen now...and a family-sized peach crisp for now.

The guys dont know it but I used Splenda so that I can even take a taste or two now and then. And the last of the peaches were made into a puree and frozen in 1/4 cup portions for my protein shakes thru the winter.

Thursday, I tackle more pears..we have trees and trees of pears! and tomato sauce too.

And while the sauces are cooking, Im doing illustration work again. Ive signed up two new clients so InfoDIVA is happy!

For those who have been following the story of LilyRose, her "sideways" back legs and hip muscles have strengthened so well that she now scampers about like a normal kitten!!  what a miracle to see! she use to move like a turtle!  Her little body is still "flattened" but she is bright-eyed and gentle and loving.

JB tries to hide it, sounding all gruffand mean, but he also loves her..and also little Smoky..a tiny fluffy lil thing..black head and tail and wierd smoky grey body..strange looking lil critter but so sweet!    One they are both completely weaned, they will be dewormed and de-fleaed (the joys of outside country livin'!), they will be brought inside and then neutered at the appropriate age.  Katie will hide for days, knowing her, but she will get over the intrusion eventually.

The MYSTERY BOX is not here yet...Im sure it will arrive very soon!

If Id have known that I'd be ripping out my new pink sweater, I'd not have hidden the end threads so darned well..sheesh!!!  Well Im now suffering from FUZZY EYEBALLS!   Time to get to bed!

You all have such busy lives.  My day is simple comparatively.  Wor****il 6:15AM, go home, sleep until 1:45PM, get up go to work (part time job), go to work full time job, go home, etc.

Thank goodness I am a Rangers season ticket holder who has a boss who understands my love for baseball.  I go to about 50 games a year.

Today they lost 8-7, but hit some monstrous home runs.  They were in Seattle.  Taylor Teagarden hit the stairway between the first and second level in left field.  Chris Davi**** the restaurant in right field.

Just looking around and thought I would post for a change.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Morning Glories!

I've been up since 3:00...just too much running through my head. Wish is was good stuff, but alas, no.  Things to pick up at the grocery store, Walk From Obesity "SH***",  and darn it, it's my day off and now I'm going to be too tired to care about anything.

One of the TX support group leaders is in town for a few days so four or five of us are going to meet at Buck's tonight for a litle GTG.  Should be fun.   Gary's got a cold now, been one thing after another for the poor guy for three weeks now, so I sure hope this doesn't last long.

Miss Margo, all my good vibes and prayers are headed your way for a better outcome than you're anticipating.  Take care, sweet one, we're here for you!

Hope everyone else has a wonderful day. Maybe after a nap this afternoon I'll pop back in.

Hugs

Susan

Good Morning Lora and Everyone!

Lora you are so lucky to have Mary to walk with.   I wish I lived close.     I bet you both look fantastic.

Only 7 more days of work for me then my plan is to do my walking pushing the stroller.    I guess I need to be looking for one of those exercise stollers so I can still do some running.   Amanda would probably think that was a good game.

9-11 is always a sad day for us for all the lives lost in the tragedy of the terrorist attacks and 5 years ago my grandmother passed away also.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,
Couldn't sleep after waking up at 4:30 thinking about our
trip next week.....My bro' was here yesterday afternoon
and mapped out our whole journey on the atlas...now he
thinks we may be gone for 10-12 days instead of a week.
We may leave on Friday instead of Saturday depending on
his work schedule. Look out New England == here come
the "troyer" kids!!

Drinking my decaf to warm up this morning.....it's in the high 40's here this morning, but supposed to get up to
the high 70's by afternoon.

Tomorrow I go into work early, then at noon is our annual
Fall Soup & Salad Luncheon at church.....I am the ticket
person and greeter.....I love it! I'm making 3-bean salads and using garbonzo beans instead of kidney beans just to "kick it up a notch". We usually have a good turn
out -- hope the weather stays nice.

I am really pushing my exercise routine.....since it has turned cooler I'm not going over to the pool for water walking, but have increased my bike riding to twice a day
and am up to almost 7 miles a day on my way to 10!!

Better get some breakfast now.....have an 8:30 appt. at
the car dealership to get the van serviced and need to
stop at the auto parts store to pick up new wiper blades.

Have a great day everyone --- good to see you posting
George!

Morning my OFF Family,

Been quite busy since getting back from vacation.  Brenda has an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon last week about her torn rotator cuff.  10 minutes of her appointment was spent discussing WLS.  The doctor was overweight and interested.  He really didn't want surgery (funny, considering he was a surgeon).  It was funny educating a doctor about WLS.  He gave Brenda a shot of cortisone, so she's doing alittle better.

I had my consultation with the chiropractor we met at support group.  Unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover appointments with him.  The consultation was free because we met him at support group, so all I had to pay was the $79 for the x-rays (what a discount for not having insurance).  Next week I go back to get the results and his recommendations.  I've been holding on calling the Spine Center back to schedule the spinal block.  Want to see what chiropractor finds out first.  My pain seems to be increasing day-by-day.  Brenda does most of the driving now because it hurts too much.

We're having a 9-11 ceremony at work in awhile, so plan on attending that.  Hard to believe so much time has gone by since then.  We'll never forget.

Pat, hope you have a wonderful trip.  Everytime I see a post from you, I now remember the wonderful visit we had with you.

Thanks to Margo's reminder, I've made our hotel reservations for Friday night at Frankenmuth.  Not sure where we're headed for Saturday, but it's out 33rd wedding anniversary so I need to plan something special for that day too.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Floyd:

Don't wait too long on the spinal block ... my brother's back was actually aggravated by the chiropractor (not on purpose, but sometimes an adjustment can set things in motion). His fingers started going numb; he's now seeing an orthopedic surgeon and getting some help, but he was in serious pain for awhile.
