Good morning Linda and all,

My daughter and her husband are conducting a CPR class this morning so I am off to see Matthew and Melanie.

The little buggers tried their best to shove cookies in my mouth yesterday. Their usual snacks are fruit or cheese sticks which we share. It is hard to explain to a 3 year old and 1 1/2 year old that grandma doesn't eat cookies. Melanie kept saying "Namma, but chocolate is nummy"!! Yeah, I seem to recall that concept.

Have a good sleep. I'm off to play.

Kisses

Linda,

Yesterday, the reflux I'd been suffering at night turned into an all-day thing and I called my surgeon's office for help.  He was in surgery all day - no nurse or other medical type person on duty in the office to advise me - so I got an appt. for Monday a.m. and hiked over to our local Urgent Care Clinic.  The NP there told me to get OTC Prilosec, which is helping a bit, but I didn't sleep much last night.  Finally got up and went to Wal-Mart for groceries.  Some pretty freaky people shop at Wal-Mart at 4 am.  Including me.

B:  peanut butter chocolate protein shake w/ 1/2 banana
S:  iced decaf latte (skim milk, SF caramel syrup)
L:  2 oz salmon, 2 oz brocamole
S:  3 oz light yogurt
D:  chicken stew w/ onions, mushrooms, artichokes, Dijon mustard, and light sour cream
S:  4 oz SF rice pudding

You poor baby!! I hope your doc gives you Nexium or what ever helps. I have to take it as it prevents ulcers and the steroids I take make ulcers easily, surgeon's advise, and handome, smart man of the Asian persusion (sp)?
I have been that woman at Walmart that time of the morning. I think they are a haven for lost spirits, homeless, addicts of all kinds, including food addicts such as myself. Stay tuned tomorrow for what my addicted self did!
I hope you get to feeling better. When I suffer such as you are, a good dose of Milk of Magnesia, followed with about 4 ozs of water takes care of it for me. It totally sets my system straight and was the only thing recommended by my Doc and NUT right after WLS.
Take care, sweet funny lady!

Ain't sleepin' in great?  I've been doing it for over a month, until today.  I had to drive my grandson to meet the football team bus at 6:30am.  Driving hurts my incision so I do it as little as possible.  I feel better every day though!

B#1 - granola, milk and a peach
B#2 - protein shake
L - shrimp ****tail and some raw veggies
D - homemade chili -  it's cookin now---can you smell it?   I've been craving spicy foods  and I'm eating chili 'til I'm sick of it!

Have a great day everyone and God Bless!!

I understand just what you are saying about the spicey food. I have been having that since I had my wls. I always loved it but it got to the point that I couldn't eat it. Now watch out since I am into the jalapeno peppers again. I have to curb my cooking though since Bill has a terrible stomach and can't tolerate it at all. Oh no! : (

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

I hope you get to rest your body and enjoy the protein that is so important to us, especially as we heal.
