What's New, Friday!
Good Friday morning all my lovelies!!!! Just think~tomorrow is Saturday which is my favorite day of the week.
I am getting to do just what I love to do this morning. That is spend time with all of my OFF family. My loved sisters and brothers. The siblings that I chose and not just got stuck with! Can't have a better start to a day than that!
I have to run into the church office this morning. I have to go and make a copy of a paper for the pastor and I have to pay for the alter flowers for Sunday. We are having them in loving memory of our parents. My dad's birthday is tomorrow and mom's is the 12th so that is why I got them now. I have to do things around times that I can remember. I know that Bill's mom passed in February but what I am not sure. His dad passed in November just before Thanksgiving but not sure on that either. Oh well, I guess the important thing is that they are included. I couldn't have alter flowers for my mom and dad and not include his. It just wouldn't seem right to me.
It finally finished raining. I thought that we were all going to have to find boats if we needed to get around. Of course I was out in the bad rain yesterday just running all over the town of Valparaiso. Like I was outta my ever loving' mind. I guess I was in a way. lol I at least got done what I was going to and so it was a good day of insanity.
I went to Goodwill and I got a nice small casserole dish that is non stick and I got a beautiful 2 piece outfit. I know that it was suppose to come to $14.50 plus tax for the 2 things but she must have gave me a old lady discount and that is alright with this one. lol I save money wherever I can get it. Did my parents raise a fool? Don't think so. The outfit is one for more a special occaision. I have needed more clothes for church and this is it. If it still looks nice come Christmas this is the one too. I have to get the pants hemmed. I do believe that they are going to have to cut off and so I told Bill that I am taking them to this woman who does sewing. She has hemmed my pants before for dress outfits and she does a wonderful job. She isn't that expensive either so that is a plus. Anyway, the outfit is cream color and just fantastic. The top looks like a 2 peice but it is one. The shirt thing on it looks just like the pants and the jacket of it is like a pattern of like lacey looking stuff and it is trimmed in the same material as the pants. As you can tell it is hard for me to describe things like this. lol I am sure no one would have guessed that one! The wonderful thing is it is a size 16 and NOT a women's size. That is wonderful. I showed the pants to Bill and said "Look how small they are and they fit me!". The top does have shoulder pads and I think that they make my shoulders looks to big but Bill said he didn't think so. I have never been a shoulder pad kind of girl, but I am not sure about taking them out. I may ask the woman when she hems them.
Well, I guess I had better get going. I was wondering about Maui Karen. I miss her when she doesn't post. She is such a inspiration and always knows just the right thing to say. She has a peace about her that I sometimes envy.
I am sending everyone love and lots of hugs. Prayers are being said for everyone and special ones are being sent up for those in need of them. Stay positive and know that you are a loved and important person in the eyes of God.

Good Morning all, this will be really short...as I am about to leave for my daughters...gotta take care of all my girls. One grand has been sick 3 days...and mama has to work. The SIL was there yesterday helping (causing stress.).. Everything always turns to him and his problems, now he says he is having panic attacks but he messed up the time of his appt yesterday. He needs to see a psych. I told him whether or not he & our daughter get back together is immaterial he needs to get himself right to be the best dad he can be to those two little girls. That is the most important thing. Sorry for the rant. gotta run.
Hugs, paulette

Hi Julia and everyone:
Yes, it's nearly noon and here I am; the sun is coming out but I still feel like it's going to rain ... the ol' weather head is hurting something bad. Woke up with a headache this morning. I really should get my Imitrex prescription renewed but it's nearly $20 for nine pills ... yuck! And with a $50 prescription this week for the other migraine preventive (topamax), I don't want to put out that much extra money. So I will try other remedies -- sticking my head under the shower, Vick's on the forehead and sinuses, the hot sinus pack, the heating pad ... lots of other things. Hope one works before I have to go to work. Sometimes caffeine helps ... that's what I'm doing now.
Not a bad night at work last night, just not a great one either ... a few extra pages because we're always short-handed on Friday mornings. And I had to wait for the stories to come in. At least I didn't have to post a lot of stuff online. And no reviews! But coming home was horrible ... it was pouring buckets! Hard to see and at times the car was hydroplaning on the highway. I had to slow down a few times. Luckily, it's late at night and not a lot of people out there.
I stubbed my toe on a 40-lb. box of kitty litter yesterday while getting ready to go to work; boy, does it hurt today. Hope I didn't break it. I don't think so; it still bends OK. I iced last night when I got home until I couldn't stand it anymore ... I got too cold. It's chilly enough now because of the outside temp ... we went from the 90s down to 70s during the day real fast.
I'm so glad to have the weekend around. Sunday is supposed to be the day for the movie shoot in the office, although I haven't gotten the official time from my executive editor. They picked one other guy from the copy desk, a photographer, a reporter and two folks from the sports desk (well, one of the sports guys works part time on the news desk). The sports editor was picked ... we have a female sports editor, which I think is cool. I worked so hard as a sports writer when I was the only woman in a man's world; I love seeing four women working over in our sports department, with one as the editor.
Well, I guess that's all. Have a good day.

Ohhh I love to scrap book. I have 3 started right now. When I took the grandkids camping I bought grandaughter & myself each one we are making cemetary scrapbooks beacase we love to explore cemetarys. I ended up spending over $70 for supplies.. OUCH and I imbellish a lot with clip art. I also have one started for Liz's engagement and Bridel shower and one on the upcoming baby.( Baby Bo) I used to have a table set up in the basement so I could keep stuff out, but the table is at Chucks, grrrr so who knows if I ever get it back. My granddaughter is in a Child developement class and will be bringing one of those mechanical babies home for the weekend. I am "babysitting " while she goes to the football game. I told her I would but it would cost her $5. Hey, the idea is to get a taste of parenthood and kids ain't cheap !!! Also I have a church board meeting tonight and will have to take the thing with me..Wonder if I will have to have a car seat? Saw Chuck at Legion last night, he behaved himself. Did sit by me at dinner. But after the meeting he left quickly.
I went to an Estate sale after work yesterday. I love love them, auctions, yard sales but 1. I haven't had the time the last couple of years and 2. I have no room for new stuff. I endulged and ended up coming home with a child's rocker, just like the one I had growing up, will be for the baby. and I got a fantastic small table. I have a lot of pieces that have been passed down through the family and some I have picked up, that have the dark wood patina that develops over time, This little table has it, I was going to put in under a window in the extra room, but it fits beautifuly with the pieces in my living room, I was silly excited over it, made me get out the lemon oil and polish everything up.THESE are the things I have so missed doing.Have a wonderful weekend.Blessings
