Returning from ?????
Hi Everyone!
I have not been on in the last three days so forgive me if I am behind!! Husband (who had a heart attack 16 yrs ago) was experiencing chest pain for the past three days and just let me know about it on Tuesday am! I was so upset and afraid I couldn't think. Took him to cardiologist on Tuesday afternoon. They told him they needed to do a heart cath to check things out, but could not do it until the VA (he is retired military and heart probs are service connected) approved the procedure and that could take 10-21 days. What?!?!? Told us to go home and if it got worse to go to the emergency room. Cardiologist is in Wilmington and we live 1 hr away. About 11:30 pm he admitted that he was afraid to go to sleep because of the discomfort. I told him if he died on me tonight I did not know if I would ever forgive him! He then broke down and said let's go to the ER!
I had already packed a bag! So up out of bed we went ,back over to Wilmington. Sat in the ER in New Hanover Reg Med Cnt from 12:00 am until 8:00 am until the got him admitted and in a room. The went in and did a heart cath and found a (1) 90%, (2) 50%, (1) 20% and (1) 10% blockages. The put a stent in the 90% but left the others alone. Thank the Lord for blessing!!!
Keep us in your prayers
I am still about crazy! Did not get all my protein or some of my meds. Eating was crazy, I am trying to get myself back on track. Did not eat anything bad but just not the way I would have at home.
Hope everyone else is doing good! Now I have to go out and get ready for Hanna!

Vera, just remember to breath and know that hubby is in the place that he needs to be right now. Remember to take care of yourself and do what you need to do for you. And that right now is to eat regularly and take your medications when you need to. If you get yourself down you are going to be of no use to anyone and that includes your hubby who needs you right now.
You and hubby are in my special prayers and know that God has you both in the circle of His healing and loving arms. May He bring peace, understanding and acceptance to you both.
Please keep us posted on how both of you are doing. Remember too that we love you and are here for you when you need us.

You are right Brenda, and the only medication I missed was 1 dose of potassium citrate for my kidney stones, and my vitamins, and calcium and only 1 day of the vits and calcium. Not too bad for a quick trip! Eating was a bit of a challenge as I stayed at the hospital most of the time, but I had some egg quiche (B) salmon grilled and some chilli (L) and tuna salad (S). Could have been better but could have been worse! LOL
Thanks for the love and prayers, keep 'em coming!

Vera,
You have been on my mind because of the upcoming storm, but I had no idea so many other things were happening too.
Glad that Jason decided to go on the hospital. He definitely needed to and now he can be on the road to recovery. Both of you need to take care of yourselves and each other.
Hope things will slow down now. Just weather the storm...

Shelia,
Thanks for the good thoughts. We sure need them.
I brought Jason home from the hospital today. We got a neighbor to put up a piece of plywood over the window that is over the head of my bed. Other that than we will just have to make do.
Will let you know how it goes. I hope Hanna does not strenghten too much!

((((((( H U G G S )))))) You are in my thoughts and prayers. HINT: I keep a lunch box with wls foods in it. Protein bars, granola beef jerky nuts... etc. that way I can grab it on the way out. Also, slim fast and bottled water. I toss in a few cheese sticks from the fridge as I go out the door. I started this when I was diabetic because I would get out and about then drop.... ugh. It has the right foods for mom and I to last at least for the day. Millie

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
