What's New ~ Wednesday
You're in our thoughts and prayers.
Still trying to catch up at work. I had almost 300 emails waiting for me and it's all I could do yesterday just to read them. Today I need to start answering some of them.
I started taking pain medication last night and it only lessens the pain. I'm going to try and stay at my desk today as much as possible because getting up and down hurts. My eyes were really opened this morning. We have a guy in our office that just started using a wheelchair about a month ago. Talking with him this morning, he has a herniated disk too and is waiting to have surgery. Guess that shows how bad it can get.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Good luck and prayers to you during you surgery and recovery Joyce.
We've been up since 6 and out the door at 7 this am for a minor "Nana" emergency at our daughters this am, good thing she lives close. Cheyanne is getting her 6 yr molars and running a temp and would not cooperate with mommy to take any tylenol. She wanted Nana to fix it. So off we went. She is runing fever 101 but took the tylenol fine for me even let me put some anbesol on the molar. Mommy is shaking her head.
So we are off to the grocery store soon to get some healthy quick on the go meals for me. I did have a fantastic protein shake last night for dinner. A friend from the Illinois board, is concerned about my eating also. Insisted I take the rest of a canister of Body Tech Whey Pro 24 home and try and get a shake in each day. I made one for dinner late last night with 1/2 c frozen mixed fruit. It was really yummy.
I have the girls again today but they will be here which will help me manage my food better. The hubby is going to spend some time at our daughters fixing some stuff.
I hope everyone has a fantastic day.
Hugs, Paulette
Good morning Everyone!
Joyce, I hope all goes well for you today and that you are comfortable enough to come home tomorrow as planned. Best wishes to you.
Yesterday, my workout partner showed up at the gym! I enjoyed visiting with her and catching up on what's been going on with her family over the summer. Her daughter and my son have been in school together since kindergarten, and tho they are not on the same team at school, we are both involved PTA moms so we have been friends in that respect for many years, and like to keep up with each others babies. When she quit showing up at the gym, I really missed chatting with her. She told me she would be there this morning too, but alas, she didn't show up. ::sigh:: So I turned up the ipod and had a nice cardio workout by myself.
I've had to put my weight training on hold, as I recently found out I may have a torn rotator...hurts like hell. Anyway, more on that next week after I see my orthopedic surgeon to discuss the MRI. No matter, it's gonna have to wait until after I have my band surgery.
It's turning hot here again, so I had to break down and turn on the central air this morning. It pains me when I can't have the windows open. I love that fresh breeze blowing the curtains in, but hopefully it will only be a week of this, and like Connie, I am not quite ready for 48 degree mornings. Connie, I feel your pain. Sure would be nice if we could control the seasons.
My son, Sam has been back to school for 2 weeks. This year, his teachers required 3-ring binder notebooks, rather than spiral ones, so he looks like his back is breaking when he is wearing his backpack. I recall having one 3-ring binder that had dividers for all my subjects, but not one binder for EACH subject! Anyway, he had a rough year last yr in 7th grade, and I am hoping this yr is going to be better. He is young for his grade, his birthday is in Dec, and it typically takes him about that long to catch up each year (last yr being the exception). But so far he seems to be on track. And, I know personally his Science/team lead teacher, so hopefully we can nip anything bad in the bud before he has to play that catch up game.
Here's my baby on his first day of school -
My calendar has a quote from Maya Angelou on it - "I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back." You all throw something my way everyday. Thanks! Have a great day!
