I am soooooo proud I am in day 7 of my pre op diet I know most of the weight loss is water but I have lost 17 lbs, that is weight my dr has to deal with. I really have not struggled or felt deprived, I really think allot of it is attitude. I could not have done it with out gods help and the support you all,  have given me. 9-10-08 is the first day of the rest of my life. I have left everything in gods hands through this whole thing and even if he would cancel it now for some reason I know he is in control. THANK YOU ALL

Hi Roberta--glad to hear you are doing so  great.  My surgery is scheduled for 9/15/08, so I started yesterday and you are right, I do not feel deprived at all.   (My son got married 8/30/08  so that stress is all over and I didn't  fill myself up with food or sweets.) The nutrition lecture I got was extremely well informed so I do have some options to fill in just in case I do start to feel deprived.   Good luck   for the days to come and also with your surgert.  Sandra

There must be two Dr. James Wagner as my Dr. Wagner is associated with Hurley Bariatric Center in Flint, Michigan.  We are not too far from each other, I have been to St. Louis on my way to  CA to see son in Navy in  early 90's.  My surgery date is 9-15-08, finally.    Sandra

I know what you mean about being proud - I really didn't have a problem with the pre-op diet either - and I think it is because this is something that we want..  I know I am more determined than ever to lose this weight and the motivation of seeing the scales going down is one of the things that keeps me on track/

Congratulations!

Hi...I didn't mind the LD before surgery either. I felt so cleansed and never felt hungry like I thought I would.
You have a great attitude and will do wonderfully on your journey!
Congrats on your upcoming surgery.

You are doing great!  I am so happy to read about your attitude, which has helped me to frame my upcoming pre-op diet in my own head.  I start mine this coming Friday.  Thanks for sharing!
