I don't have a digital camera yet but hope to soon cuz I'm tired of my empty avatar. I definitely want before and after pics cuz this will be the last time I will be obese ever again. I'll try to work a couple extra shifts to be able to get a camera.

Hi everyone!
I need to take a picture so I don't have a blank avatar. And start taking some of them monthly. I just hate to look at them!
Measurements too. I know others have said that sometimes the scale doesn't move, but the inches do.
I just hope my 4 more months of dieting goes quick. I'm really not a patient person, Oh yeah, and dieting over the holidays! DUH, I'll never lose anything.And I'm just so ready to get started. I got stuff out of a box today, a picture of me and my SO in San Francisco. I have on this pink Laura Ashley sweater, 1X and 18 Tommy Hilfiger jeans. I actually looked pretty cute, That was 85 pounds ago though. I swore then I'd never get this fat again, and I did. Its just so aggravating

Ya know, I see pics of me that others take and I kringe...but I also promise myself at that point that I will never look like that again soooo eventho it's extremely uncomfortable it helps me to stay focused. I wear a security name tag with my photo (shoulders up) and everytime I put it on for work I see that I'm not quite as large as I was in that photo and it feels kinda good. I'm sure I'll start getting comments on the difference once others notice the wt loss but for me it's a reminder of what I do not want for myself. It's like I lived in a fog for so long and now I'm awake and realize I need to change ME. Yes, once I get my avatar up I'm sure it won't be the best picture of me cuz I'll be obese in that photo....but everyone here has been in that very same place themselves. This is the first place and time in my life that I've been able to admit my obesity. This forum has allowed me to express my true feelings without feeling of judgement. I haven't been able to do that anyplace else. I love it here and I'll be around for a long time God willing.

My wife and I both had RNY, about 18 months apart. We went to our doc (PC) a month or so ago. Mary was thinking about plastic surgery for her paunch. Mary is not the picture of health. Over the last 10 years she has had 37 surgeries. In addition, she has Parkinson's Disease. Our doc looked at her and told her he would not recommend PS. He said he had two reasons.
1. You have had 37 surgeries. Why risk it and roll the dice on one you do not HAVE to have?
2. Why did you have WLS? Did you have it to look good in a swim suit or to be healthier?
On our ride home Mary and I are talking and she says "I sure hate it when he makes sense."
