Eat girl, eat! What happened? Not so long ago we weighed almost the same tho I'm definitely vertically challenged. Here I am fighting to not put on the pounds and you can't keep them on. Too bad we can't share a bit!! Chocolate covered macadamia nuts perhaps??????

Aloha darlin...I know!! It is the strangest thing that has happened to me. I have to EAT all the time, or I will drop lbs. Today I'm 155, and a few days ago I went up to 157, but if I don't snack all the time.....I'll be back down to 152 in no time. I told my friends who keep telling me I'm too skinny that I am snacking all the time at work. I take a backpack filled with protein shakes, nuts, soy crisps, dried apricots, zone bars, bananas every day....and munch away as I work. I think my "innards" are just grinding stuff up and shoving it out! Ha! My poops are huge (sorry..way TMI) so I don't think much food is sticking onto my bones!

Dr. says I'm healthy, but if I lose into the 140's we'll have to look into malabsorbtion issues. You'd think my blood work would show if I'm deficient in anything though. Tis a problem I never envisioned that's for sure!

I'll gladly take a few of your lbs. that you don't want or need!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

I'm sure you're burning up many more calories with your job than you were last year at this time. Just think of all the walking you now do in a day. There's always cheese.  Didn't I read somewhere that it was called "Fat man's candy??"  I know what I am NOT doing that was so good about for so long. I am not EXERCISING regularly.  Too much sitting onmy hiney playing with babies, playing on the computer, playing with the new house stuff!

Hi Karen and my OFF family:

It's hot here and sunny and the pollen count is high, so the air is on. My kitties are snoozing all around the condo. Nettie is under the fleece throw on my bed, Scooter curled up on top of one cat condo and Diva in this bedroom on top of another.

I have a pot of spaghetti sauce in my slow cooker for dinner tonight. It'll last a few days for dinner and I'll freeze the rest. But preparing it made my knee hurt ... OK, I've been trying not to complain, but it's hard. I go back to the ortho doc Tuesday; got a bunch of questions for him. He has to do something for me. I don't care if the bone scan is negative; I'm in pain, and that means something is wrong!

I spent nearly 3 hours last night talking to my friend Margie in South Dakota; what a revealing conversation that was! Seems her hubby and my former editor Wally wasn't the good guy he made himself out to be ... he was a cheating ******* When they were first married with one kid, he was having an affair with a 16-year-old. Margie got pregnant again; Wally would have left if she hadn't been pregnant ... Margie was having twins but the one twin died in utero. Wally was always very critical of his oldest daughter and not very nice to her, and I never understood why until last night ... she was the one who kept him from running away with the teenybopper. And his daughter always resented her father, too ... he used to get on her about her weight ... which he shouldn't have, because he was morbidly obese, too. I was amazed Margie stuck it out all that time ... they were married nearly 40 years when he died. And he was such a selfish man in so many ways! I saw it, too ... but then again, he was generous, too ... he helped me a lot in my career. I guess it goes to show you, people are very complex. Boy, you never know ...  their daughter always had such potential as a writer and never wanted to explore it because of her dad ... she has kind of wasted her life until now ... she took a job recently as a reporter for the local newspaper ... she's in her 30s, I think. I think this may be the way she finally finds herself. I hope so. She was an incredibly bright young woman when I knew her when she was in high school.

Well, not much else going on around here. I want to make these fruit and fiber muffins out of my gastric bypass cookbook ... I know my knee isn't going to like me for standing up that long, but I need to use up my blueberries before they go bad. So off I go to the kitchen. Already have taken one vicodin; I'll use the icepack again if I need to.

Have a good day; Debbie, I hope all is well, I've been watching the weather channel reports ... my friend Mary Kay has relatives in Baton Rouge and they're concerned too but not as closely concerned as you are. Stay safe, my friend. Jean, I hope you are safe also.

Karen C - Thanks for reminding me of all the positives I have right now.  As the laundry has been washing and drying I've been going through my fiiing cabinet organizing and shredding.  While working in my home office I discovered something else I need to do.  I was sitting here and felt something bite my foot - ANTS.  Geez, every year about this time I get them and mostly, of all places, back here in my office.  I'm getting the office sprayed with my Ortho Max Defense stuff inside and will work on spraying the outside tomorrow.  Later I'm going to go through my makeup and hair 'stuff'' and dispose of a lot of things that I don't use.  Sometimes, especially with makeup, I look at it and think "what was I thinking when I bought this!"  LOL

Karen S. - You are putting me to shame with all that cleaning.  I've got to get busy to try to keep up with you "miss energy".  LOL

While off to get another load out of the dryer.

Later!
Hugs! Donna L (finding_me) - I just know I'm here somewhere...
