At our age....
Adele and Darlene, Just wanted to welcome you both to the Over Fifty Forum and to let you know that I look forward to following your journey. I am 3.5 yrs post LAP RNY. It has been a mostly wonderful ride with renewed health and a zest for life that had been missing for many years. I am at the point where I'm having to dig in and work to keep what I have found, but it is so worth it. Will be thinking of you both this week as you get to the "meat and potatoes!" part of this journey. Believe it or not, I had absolutely no desire for meat and potatoes for months after surgery. Many of the things that I could binge on before surgery didn't smell or taste good to me. That made it much easier to learn the new things that I needed to do to be a success. Eating to live instead of living to eat has become a mantra that I do my best to live by. Welcome to a wonderful support site!

Helen, Keep doing what the nut tells you
Darlene, you are soooo right about the photo's. Good advice to keep a photo log! I try to remember to take one on the 3rd of each month and keep a log. Also, now I don't mind my picture taken, and I don't hide behind a prop anymore. ( a child on my lap, standing behind my husband, get in the middle of the group, etc.) I'm not at goal yet, but I sure do feel better than I used to.
