Hey Carla:

You beat me to it! I'm kinda wired ... call it information overload. Too many pages to do tonight all by myself ... three biz pages, the Ada to Zeeland briefs package, plus two inside Region pages (they were supposed to be what are known as "liner" pages, and should have just been one page, but it grew to two because not enough local people died ... we didn't have enough paid obits). Then I had to edit the Doobie Brothers review (everybody sing ..."Listen to the Music" ... it's in my head all night long). I brought along a magazine to read in the lull ... but I never had a lull so by the time I got done at 12:30 a.m., I had been sitting pretty much straight for 7 1/2 hours, with a few breaks for dinner and bathroom, etc., and getting up to stretch; only had my leg propped up for a half-hour while I ate dinner. It's pretty sore now. Should be tired, but, like I said, I'm wired.

Oh, wanted to say ... there's going to be a Hollywood movie filmed in our office ... I think next Sunday ... our editor was asking for volunteers to be extras. I volunteered, but there were a lot of others who did, too, so they are putting names in a hat to pick out the lucky staffers who get to participate. Val Kilmer is one of the actors; can't remember the other one. Kind of cool, huh? I'm not very lucky, so most likely I won't get picked. They're going to film it in our newsroom ... that's so neat.

Carla, I'd call you but don't want to wake you or Carl up. Have a great trip; I know your daughter will be surprised.

I'm just glad it's Friday. I need a weekend. I only have two days off but it's good ... I get triple time on Monday.

Talk to y'all later.

I pray that you have a safe and wonderful trip to here. I just wish that I could have come to see you. I just couldn't change the plans for the visitations because there is so many of them this afternoon. On top of it I have to see one of our nursing home people since she had 2 mini strokes. I tried to tell the nursing staff but they wouldn't listen.

Oh well, since I can't see you this trip I will defintely see you in October!!!!!!

Eileen, if they don't pick you to be in the movie we will all be mad and we may need to boycott the whole thing. But then again we want to see where you work so we may not want to. lol

Monday is good with triple time and so that adds a bright spot in a somewhat icky thing. I do so love the word icky. It rolls off your tongue so well! lol

TGIF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

safe journey, carla!

kinda down right now- had some news that wasn't what i wanted to hear about a path i was hoping to take in life...ah well...wasn't meant to be i guess!bummer part is that the deciding factor was money- as always....and i am so tired of that......would rather it be some other reason.
discouraging...

hugs and prayers....
special ones for connie and nic, debbie (and all who could be affected by weather right now!) and our jeanb!!!!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margo, I am so sorry that things didn't work out for you. Just think of it as it wasn't meant to be right now. Maybe the thing isn't out of the picture forever. Jus think of it as if it is meant to be it will remain open to you.

I know it can be discouraging but just keep your chin up and your head held high. Know that we love you and we do it very well during the down times of your life. We all need a group hug, sister!

thx brenda but i think this time it is one of those def not meant to be's--and it was a career thing for my future...i am very disappointed as it was a true passion for me...and i don't see that passion being revived now--i have to realize that it is not for me-

between the money needed to pay on a downpayment and the fact that michael is against it...he could be convinced that i was right if it weren't for the money......he is a reasonable man really-but we don't have the $500 downpayment .....
don't mean to be down but have to face reality i guess

thx for the hugs-they are important but money pays the bills and this would have increased my earning potential tremendously after schooling was done.....and the self esteem that was also associated with it.......

Sorry about your bad news, Margo ... I think I know what it was and I definitely know how you feel when money gets in the way of what you want to do and your dreams. I know how discouraging that is. It's hard to say hang in there ... everyone says it to me, but I have to say it to you, too.

Some day we'll both have our dream, huh? I'm so sick of money ruling my days and nights and weeks and months and years ... worrying about every penny. It's my own fault for getting into this mess, but I wish I didn't have to worry so much ... and I know you feel the same way about your issues. It just wears on you. Some cyberhugs coming your way!

Good morning Carla and my OFF buddies,

Carla, hope you have a great time in Chicago with your daughter. How fun it's going to be to surprise her.  And if you get stuck coming back, well, you'll have your cousin to have fun with, so either way it will all be good.

Have a so-so- day ahead. Only ONE client on the books this morning, but the rest of the day will be nice. I've been asked to speak again at my surgeons WLS seminar.  Looking out at all those hopeful people makes me remember where I was two years ago. Kind of keeps me grounded in this journey.  I sometimes feel like I'm put on display, but I realize how lucky I have been with everything that has gone on these two years and if people looking at me and asking a few questions can make a difference in their lives, well, I'm up to it.  After the seminar I'll go back to the salon for a massage.....I trade with one of the massage therapists cuts and colors for massage. Nice, huh?  Then Gary and I are going to the home of one of his co-workers for a barbecue. Should be the start of a great weekend for them, I still have to work tomorrow.

I got the lawn mowed and eventhough I'm a little sore today, the ankle held up and I'm darned proud of how it looks. Got a little sun too!

Okay, everyone have a safe and happy Labor Day.  Love and hugs

Susan
