Cajun Angel / Debbie
Yep, we are prepared! Thanks for thinking of me/us. George says we'll leave if it looks bad and a direct hit - above Cat. 3. Other than that, we'll sit it out at home. We have lots of emergency supplies and a generator, cars topped off last night, prescription meds filled... We know the routine! We did leave for Katrina and the one that threatened about a month after my wls - George was concerned that being so recently post-op I might need medical attention. All other hurricanes, we've stayed. Our damage from Katrina was minimal compared to the Eastbank of the Miss. River. (We live on the Westbank, or as we call it, the Bestbank.) There were two in our neighborhood who stayed for Katrina. We did have lots of wind damage, but no flooding.
I'll keep y'all posted as to what we're doing. If we leave, we'll probably head to Eunice, LA northwest of here - 3 hours away - which will probably take us 15 or more hours with all the other evacuees heading out of town.
Thanks again, Debbie
