Do you have a transfer addiction?

Here on OH, I've heard folks talk about "transfer additions" that they developed when they couldn't abuse food any more.

Today, I would have to say that clothes shopping is definitely my new addiction.

Every Wednesday I visit my elderly mom in her assisted living facility.  In a 5-min drive from there are a VF factory outlet, Goodwill Store, JC Penney's, Cato's, Wal-Mart, Goody's, and a few other stores.  Nothing like the choices I used to have when I lived in the Northeast, but more than enough now that I'm not limited to Plus sizes.  So, after I visit my mom today and feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone when I'm with her, my comfort is to go clothes shopping.

Today at the VF outlet I bought 2 pairs of print capris (really pretty, one khaki with pastel flowers, the other navy blue with a hot pink and green tropical motif), 1 sweater and 1 tee shirt for $20.  The capris are size 10 and the tops are SMALLS (!!!), I'm thrilled with them, but....really, I didn't need them at all.

So that's my transfer addiction confession.  What's yours?

Hello Jean....I can't say that I really have a transfer addiction.

I don't have cravings, I shop when I need to, I only have a glass of wine occasionally.....nope no addictions yet. Friday I will be one year out.

The only thing that comes close to an addiction is that I write all that I eat religiously everyday. I count my protein very closely. Guess that could be an addiction????

Connie,

I would say that tracking your nutrition (like protein intake) is a good thing!

You have done fantastic so far...just keep on doing what you're doing....

Its too early yet for me, but I hope its fun and healthy, like swimming!  Books have always been my addiction, but that doesn't count does it.  I know my granddaughter would hope it is shopping.

hmmmmmm.

Hi, You might think about using a bigger font since this is the Over Fifty Forum.  I wear glasses and can't hardly read your post.  Just a suggestion.

Coffee... fully leaded, all flavors and types... sometimes I get a physical reaction like a shudder of pure pleasure just from thinking or talking about it......  on the average I drink 4 24oz mugs a day..... but I'm also getting in twice as much water......
