Annette, I think you were right to decide to try a different avenue. Good luck!
Evelyn, My deepest sympathy for your loss.
Brenda, I am sure that your church family appreciates you as much as we do here on the board.
Margo, Aren't grandchildren the best? So sweet!
Jan, Sounds like you might just come down to Myrtle Beach, SC for the wild Bike week this spring. Give me a call if you do, I live about 45 minutes away! Enjoy your new toys!
Paulette, I know that you are in a difficult position. Trying to stay out of it is probably the best decision. I hope things will work themself out.
As for me, I went to the doctor Monday for my post surgery checkup. It has been two weeks since I was banded and I have lost a total of 15 pounds since surgery! Yeah!! That makes 30 pounds total. Doc says that I am doing great!
I just got a call and need to leave for work early. Gotta go get showered and dressed. I hate it when I am not supposed to be there until 1:00 and then get called in early.
Oh, well, we do what we must. Have a wonderful day!
Vera
We are home, got home yesterday afternoon. Sad our time together out and about is over but glad to be home. Beth did a great job keeping the house clean and I came home to dishes done, counters clean and wow! I was surprised.
Lost a lb! Hope it stays off and isn't just a fluke. I don't know how it happened! Ate lots I usually don't and shouldn't really didn't walk alot everyday. So.....we'll see what happens.
Had a very good time. Lots of pictures, lots of sights.
Had good visit with my son. Always sad to say Goodbye.
Drag show was interesting. Too many "little girls" there for their bachelorette parties, and they were a bit annoying with the squealing and behavior. The show was pretty entertaining though.
Went to lots of museums.
The ferry ride to the San Juan's was so nice, raining on the way over, sunny on the way back.
The weather was nice only while we were in Seattle.
The B&B in Seattle was wonderful, the one on the San Juan's on Friday Harbor was OK.The breakfast was very good, very very good. They also had Alpaca and other animals. Kinda neat and different.
I am glad to be home till next Tuesday now just to be around home. Wishing the weather was more summer like though. It is pouring rain and cold. I even turned the heat on this am. It's August for heavens sake!
Man, this post is boring. Sorry all....
TTYL,
Cheryl

Good Morning Annette and everyone.......
I am trying o get throught the day one hour at a time. I got news from my daughter Jamie last night that Nic's cancer is not gone from his thigh bones(femurs) after all. Those two spots and the hot spot behind his heart are a concern. Nic will be back up to Children's Hospital again on September 8th and 9th. They need to do more testing and another bone marrow aspirate. Nic hates those aspirates and I can't blame him. He will be in pain afterwards. I wish I could take the pain from him. I would in a heartbeat!! I wll be there for him and do anything I can to make it easier for him.
I feel like someone has let all the air out of my balloon!!
I took Lucas back home yesterday. He was happy to see his mom and his sisters!! He was so excited telling them all about the fun things he did at grandma's house. I am glad it was fun for him...and me too!
Annette.....I hope you can find someone else that can help you. I am so lucky my psycholgist and psychiatrist both deal with weight related issues. I have been seeing them for years. They have been just awesome since the WLS.
Jan C........I love riding on the Gold Wings....it is like riding in a luxury car! Lucky you....I would love to be able to travel like that again. You look so cute on that BIG bike!!
Paulette....Prayers are going up for your daughter and SIL. I hope things can be worked out. I have been through this with my own daughter....who is now divorced. But she is happy and that is what matters now. Raising 3 children on her own isn't always easy eother.
Cheryl....welcome home!! It sounds like your trip was a good time. At least most of it....minus the screaming girls!!
Hello to everyone else. Glad your days are going well.
Special prayers to those in need.
Prayers, love, and hugs to all.......connie d
So sorry Nic has to go through more of this crap. The cancer monster just won't go away for him, will it? I know it's the same for my friend Bruce, but he isn't doing anything except Vitamin C drips now ... he decided to skip any chemo because they said he wasn't going to get any better anyway. All you can do for Nic is wrap your arms around him and give him some love and support while he is in pain. That's not much, but it's the best you can do. Try to give him some fun time when you can, so he can still be a kid and not a kid with cancer. Do something fun, maybe after the hospital, so he can forget the painful procedure. Is it in the Twin Cities, or New York? My prayers are with him and you, that everything will turn out OK.
I am soooo sorry that your Nic has had to endure this stuff and that it appears to be never ending, I wish I had the words to say something of value, but all I can offer is my continued prayers and good wishes that his health is restored and that this chapter of his life can finally be behind him. Hugs to you dear woman, I wish I could hug you in person!
Take care, Laureen
