If you were married 10yrs or more, you are entitled to 1/2 of "his" social security at age 65, or 1/3 of it at age 62 IF you remain unmarried. I'm not sure if this is a state to state thing but ss is a federal agency so I hope this applies to you. I don't need to tell you to have a great day cuz I think you'll be having them for a long time.

thanks alice!!!! the way his lawyer was questioning me i felt like i committed a murder or something!!!! just glad its over and done with!!!!
we were married 23 years and most of it was a living hell!!!!! so much verbal abuse and doing without....as far as his SS i am not sure how it works...all i know is his pension was "before" we married so that is untouchable for me to get some of it...his SS who knows...just happy i am out of that marriage and his debts!!!! i am sure his daughter is happy also!!! the little biotch!!!!
we will be going out to celebrate tonight thats for sure!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

(((alice))) i feel for you sister!!!! my first husband was physically abusive i never knew when he would beat me!!!!!!! that marriage lasted 4 long years only because of the kids...until one night he almost killed me and i knew it was time i left him!!!!!!!! so what did i do?? got involved with gary and went from physical to verbal abuse!!!! no more of that for me now!!!! i have a man that loves me and cherishes me to no end!!!!! and i love him also!!!!
