Good morning Carla and all,

Today is another ho-hum day. I will make the final arrangements for my brother to kitty sit while we are away. Packing can't happen until the last minute or the cats get into the suitcases.

Lindsay has been e-mailing Grandpa fast and furiously. Her birthday party is being held at a sort of beauty salon for little girls. The girls get a beauty treatment, fancy hair do's, manicures, costumes, the works. (these are 10 year olds) My daughter told her that maybe Grandpa wouldn't be comfortable and could stay home with Daddy and Travis. Lindsay said " What does my Mom know about men? You will be there, won't you Grandpa?" Ahhh yes - she has him wrapped around her little finger.

Have a good day.

Carla,
We are going to Fredericksburg, VA for Lindsay's 10th birthday.

My brother does a good job with the furbrats. He comes up a couple of times a day and gives them love and cuddles.

I shave Tom's head in the Summer, nothing to color but skin. He really does have a very full head of thick hair. I have two different husbands - my Summer one and my Winter one.

Morning Carla and all:
Didn't know you were having more surgery, Joyce....hope
all goes well.

Sitting here in my swim suit and sipping my carmel truffle
decaf.....it's dark out yet, man where did those nice early sunshiny days go??? It's cool here this morning, around
55 deg.....supposed to be a nice day with temps in the low 70's. Off to the pool for water walking in just a few minutes.

It was a boring weekend.....read a book, watched the golf and the olympics and didn't do much else.....glad to be
going to work this morning later...

Have a good day everyone.

Happy Monday, Carla, and Everyone,

Sorry to see the weekend gone already and it's back to work this morning.  A coworker is off this week so I'll be extra busy.  That's okay because it helps the work day to go very quickly.  Ran some simple errands yesterday.  Hubby has finally come to the conclusion he can no longer walk through some of the larger stores.  Gets too tired too easily.  His attitude is very good so I'm very grateful.

Carla- hope you are doing well with all the rain and such that Florida is getting.  Talked to my sister in Jacksonville and she said they must have gotten 10 inches of rain.

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Hugs,

Kathi

Good Morning All!
It's a beautiful day here in the Midwest. Several areas nearby had patchy frost last nite! It's August and frost!!!
The sun is shining, the humidity is low and the skies are beautiful blue with no clouds. It was wonderful sleeping last nite with my comforter pulled right up to my chin. I love sleeping with the windows opened when it is cool enough.
Off to work in an hour, have to travel to a city 2.5 hrs away to help out there today. The only drawback to that is travelling home and trying to avoid deer on the roads. I use company cars to travel but a deer can do alot of damage to a car. I totaled a company suburban on an 8 point buck 2 yrs ago.
Ran out in front of me, couldn't stop. I lived in Northern Minnesota for 5 yrs awhile back and learned alot about defensive driving with animals but sometimes you can't avoid them.
Anyway, have a great day everyone and stay safe!!

Morning Carla and my friends,

Gary's out the door to work, bkfst dishes in the sink, but it's my day off and they can just stay there a few minutes while I stop in  LOL

There is a Walk meeting today at the hospital that I THINK I'm still supposed to go to. After my little huff two weeks ago, I might not be welcomed.  I sent an e-mail to the Chair to confirm the time, we'll see what her response is. I might stay in my jammies for a while longer today.

My DIL and I are starting a little company together making hand made bath and body products. She used to manage a Bath Junkie, and now manages a high end cosmetic store, so she has lots of experience with this sort of thing. Of course, we're starting small since we're not rolling in $$ for lots of expenses, but start we have!  Last night we made a fun "Lip Scrub"....an exfoliator  for your lips that is made from all natural sugars and flavored oils. You rub it on your lips, it smooths them out so your lipstick goes on smoother and lasts longer, and the best part?  You lick it off!  Yummmm
Our lips are a little sore today from testing all the different flavors, but who else are we going to try them on?  We already have the product and tubes to make Lip Balm to go with the scrub, and will start making out bath salts this next weekend. The woman who owns the store Tess manages has agreed to sell the line in her store, so who knows, maybe NEXT XMAS  we'll spend it on a tropical island (  maybe with Maui Karen!)

Okay, off and running. Hugs to all!

Susan

Good mornign Carla and Friends!

Work, work, and more work!  I'm wanting another weekend of fun.
Sat. we went crabbing with our friend and caught 6 doz crabs.  Yummy.  Sat. afternoon, we went to the Arena to pick out our seats for our package of Hornets tickets.  Of course, the rep wanted to sell us season tickets.  Yeah, right, like we could afford that.  A ten game package is what we wanted and what we got!  Afterward we went to Whole Foods where of course I bought too much - 4 different cheeses, some sea scallops, a can of protein powder, a jar of almond butter...  Total $81.62!  Good thing I don't go there more than once or twice a year.

Sun. church, rain, rain, and more rain which is continuing through today thanks to the remnants of Fay.  Also did lots of cooking and laundry, not much else to do with all the rain.

Today, back to the grind!

Good morning, Carla and my OFF siblings. I am always in a state of surprise at how fast the week ends go by and how slow the weeks go by. But them time still seems to fly right past us! Go figure, I can't understand it at all. lol

I have been up for 3 and a half hours since Bill is playing boss this week and working days since his boss is on vacation now and in Florida. With all the storms I don't know that I would like it very much down there. But then I heard tell they have hugh bugs and I don't like them at all.

I have a meeting at 10 with Pastor. We are going to be going over the evaluations for the church. We have to be finishing them up since they are due in a the distric office on the 1st of September. I got some help from some of the people I gave the papers to but not to many. Typical for the church. They all mean well but they think that others will just do the work for them. ha! fat chance there! lol I had one man hand a blank one to Jeri and tell her to have me fill it out for him. fat chance on that one too! Not in this lifetime.

I have a busy week this week. Today is the meeting, tomorrow is my appointment with Karen the wls nurse for my check up. Wednesday is the visitation with the shut ins for the church. We have a couple of others ones to add. Thursday is the meeting with Dr. Lelek and getting started with the emotional part of this surgery. I told Dr. Lelek that the weight loss was easy and it is the emotions that come now. He told me that he understands that and that he is there to help me through it. I so appreiated that. Friday is the visitation with the nursing home ladies from the church. I go from either nothing to do to filled for the week. That is great. I know that once I get ready to do one thing it motivates me to do others.

Bill is working days this week. So the good thing is that I am going to be able to have a normal life this week. We are going to be able to eat dinner like a family and to sit and watch television too. That is just very meaningful to me. I like doing those things and I think it is because dad got home everyday at 5. We ate dinner as a family and watched television as one too. It brings back wonderful memories.

I guess I had better get going. I have to get going and get ready to go to the church. I am sending love and hugs to everyone and prayers are going up for all. Special ones are going up for those in need of them. Have a wonderful Monday!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Brenda,  Did you tell about your sermon(?).  How did it go?  I remember you trying to choose which one to give and you chose forgiveness.  I don't remember seeing a post on how it went.    I'm sure it went well but am wondering about your feedback....   Millie
