My Sister died yesterday

Thank you for your prayers and good wishes.

Friday night was rough, and Bobbi went into the terminal restlessness phase.  I decided that my gift to the family was to send them all to bed, and I stayed with her alone throughout the night.  She got up out of bed about 4 times an hour, and spent much of the rest of the night vomiting.  She and I  got her pain and restlessness somewhat under control by dawn.  I opened the blinds and we watched the sun rise together.  My family did not rise until 9:30 or 10, so we had lots of time together.  I was so tired, but it was a blessing to be able to keep her comfortable and to allow the rest of the family some much needed rest for the hard day ahead.  The last couple of hours of her life were rough, but we all gave her permission to go, told her we loved her, and were all at her bedside holding her hand or touching her when she died at 2:45 in the afternoon.

I'm sad today, but so happy that she is finally free of pain. What a wonderful woman she was.  I wish you all could have known her.

I am so sorry for your loss. May the wings of the angels hold you and your family close to their breasts while you endure this pain. Yes, blessings come to those that are painfree in times like this.

Women are angels.
...and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly...on a broomstick.

We are flexible.

i pray that your family finds the peace that your sister has.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Evelyn, I am so sorry for your loss. I am so glad that you have the wonderful memories of her passing. They will help you in the future. You will hold them dear to your heart for many years. I pray that God keeps you and your in His loving and healing arms and gives to you peace, acceptance and understanding. Your sister is in such a better place and there is peace and good health where she is now. She is looking over all of you with the love that she had for all of you. Know that we are here for you whenever you need us.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
