Checking In

Life has happened.

Even though I'm 4 yrs closer to being an official member of this board....I've been somewhat bombarded with life.

I do believe around the last time I posted I was going threw a bit of a scary time.  I don't know if I 'reposted' that the tumor I had was benign.  I dodged a rather large bullet.  My surgeon (also my WLS) told me that even though the odds were in my favor - he knew what type of tumor this was, he knew that it had been years since he had a patient whom had this tumor and it was benign.  Thus why I was in for surgery asap.  Everything healed for the most part rather well. I know have a larger scar in my breast than I do from my WLS.  Oh' well...least I'm here.  Two weeks after I got my "all clear" a dear friend/coworker died after a long battle of breast cancer.  So..it was a very bitter sweet time.

Last time I checked in I had just changed jobs. I love dthe job.  As Marti posted in repsonse to Darlene my kids were on TV and it was in support of the agency I worked for.

However, I left that job 2 weeks ago.  Sometimes in life you have to go out on a limb and try something.  I'm trying that "something".  I'm not 100% sure that it will work out.  Monday afternoon I will find out if I "make the cut" and will become a CITY EMPLOYEE driving for the Metro Transit system.  I applied for this job a year ago. It took a year for me to get into this place and I couldn't not give it a try.    There is a chance that I might be unemployeed come Monday afternoon.  I have to take a test and if I don't pass it - well, there will be plenty of tears on my behalf....few curse words...few this and few that....and then I'll get back on my way - I guess.  I'll pass - I know I will.  I'm a good driver, have had my CDL for 8 yrs and I know that this should be an okay thing.  However,  there are certain things that can happen during the road test that might be out of my control and would automatically be a fail. I only have one chance to pass this test....then when I do pass it...  Well $$ signs will be in my future.  Anywhere from 6 months to 12 months I will be promoted to full time.  At that point my base salary will be over double of what my dh and I grossed last year combined.  So....I need some prayers, candles lit..whatever this Monday!!

What else....Not really sure.  Just the same ol' same ol.  I'm also taking 6 credit hours at the local college this fall all online.

My kids are getting big.  Abi just turned 9 and Bry just turned 6.

Not much else new to report...

We all have a little voice inside us that tells us if we're doing something decent or not,
something loving, something sharing, something giving,
but sometimes we have a lot of chatter in our lives.
That's why we need to learn to be quiet and listen.

Gala, prayers are going up for the test on Monday. I know that you will do great.

I am so glad that the scare that you had turned out alright. Your story has helped those who need to keep up with regular mammograms. So your story just might save anothers life. Sometimes you have to think of the postive things out of a part of your life you at first thought wasn't a positive. I am so glad that experience proved to be a postive to you and everything is fine. Life is special when there are times that you think that it might be shortened. Life is indeed good.

Welcome back to OFF and I hope that we hear your "voice" sharing often.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hi Nancy!!

This last week has been just as busy and horrible as the weeks before...the only difference is I got a $10 hr pay raise after I passed the test.

YES I DID PASS!!!

I have part of my uniform. Nice tops, stupid hat (I will not be wearing that) and a Bomber jacket = just like the police officers wear will be here this week.

TMW I need to finish about 60+ answers in alegbra (online class) and take a test and then 2 a bunch of other junk for 2 other classes that I'm taking.

Nope..not feeling stressed or anything like that.   :)  (I hate algebra...I suck at algebra...REALLY REALLY BAD)

and well...ineed to end this post. stupid little 7 week ol kitty who gave me ring worm (in my arm pit) is jumping at my fingers as I type this. It is to late at night to deal with this hyper little ****)

Thanks for asking Nancy..
