No, I am not familiar with him and his books. I will have to check this out though. I just find my thoughts in my heart.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Karen,

After being obese for such a long time, it has taken my head a while to catch up with the changes in my body.  The other day I caught a glimpse of myself in a store window and thought, "Who is that?"

"Hi I'm new to this board also.  I'm not sure if my head will ever catch up!
I know other people tell me I look great but I just can't quite believe it.  I'm hoping to get  to 160, I'm 5' 9".  My weight loss has really slowed down to 5-10 lbs a month at almost nine months out. I'm also losing a little of my hair, it's pretty scary. Anyone else have that problem this far out? Also is the slower weight loss normal when you're older? I'm 56. I've lost 131 including the 34 I lost before surgery.
I also want to thank everyone here for the great information and sharing, it helps so much to keep me focused.

Welcome!

A friend at work has been taking weekly pictures of me.  Everyone says they can see the results so far.  All I can see is my double chin is getting smaller and my shoes are getting looser.  Reminds me of the commercial for some insurance and awitch doctor and the mechanic coming in saying he was going home because he had a tiny head. :-)

Thanks everyone.  What a great group.
I probably will only post about once a week.  I work fulltime, I have four kids between 10 and 12, and a husband who works fulltime and attends college!  I never seem to get on to the computer until the weekend!
But I'm still really glad I found you!
