Oh boy, I've found you!

Hi everyone.  I'm happy to say I'm 51.  I've had Lapband surgery about 1 1/2 ago and I've lost a total of 88 lbs.  Somehow, my head just doesn't want to believe it.  Anyone else have this problem?
It's still difficult to think of myself as 88 lbs less.  What's been even harder, is becoming so body conscious.  When I weighed 324 lbs, I knew I was fat, but looking back, I didn't realize how fat I was.
Now, I know I weigh 236 lbs and I know that I'm fat still.
I hope to get to 140 lbs.  No, I know I will.
If I've done this, I can do more!!
Sorry for the rambling.  I do go on and on at times!

Karen,

I am relatively new to this board, too, so I am not sure I call it *home* yet, but I wanted to say welcome...  You are doing an awesome job!

Hope to get to know you over the next few weeks and months.

Karen,

I am noew on this board also. I too, find somuch weight loss hard to believe. It  sure is nice when people compliment us though! That's when I tend to believe it the most...and when I can buy those smaller sizes. I saw the father of a friend of mine at WalMart the other day and he said, "Wow, you're half your size!"  How encouraging that was! No junk food in my cart after that!!!

welcome a-board

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Congratulations on your success thusfar, you've come a long way and with your attitude, I'm sure you will achieve the goals you set out to!  Welcome to the OH Board.

As for your thinking process, I still forget that I can shop in most any clothing store now, having gotten down to a size 14 from a 3X (22/24).   It's sinking in slowly, but I certainly do enjoy living my life more these days.

Take care, Laureen

Welcome to OFF, Karen. I am so glad that you found us. Sometimes we are hard to find but well worth the wait. I know it took me a while to find them too but I am so glad that I did. I feel like I am "home" now and miss everyone when I am gone. I get my greatest support from everyone here.

OFF is such a great place. You will come to ralize that when you get to know us. We share our lives with each other and they are all a big part of my life. We share laughs, tears, happiness, sadness, knowledge and most of all love. That being totally unconditional. There isn't a lot of places that offer us unconditional love and this is most certainly one of them. I learned that they all love me even with all my "warts". lol And trust me I have plenty of them.

Please share often so we can get to know you and you can get to know us. Know that there is no "stupid" question that you can ask that one of us haven't already asked. We will offer honest answers.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Welcome Karen from another newbie here.  I'm looking forward to knowing you.

Brenda,  I'm wondering if you are familiar with Greg Baer's book called Real Love about unconditional love.  Some of your phrasing reminds me of him.  I've been in a Real Love group for several years based on his teachings.

Have a great day everyone,  CV Linda
