It's Thursday What's New
hugs to you
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Speaking of work, it's my day off but a new client wanted her color done today, so off I go. Gotta take it when I can get it. It's okay though, I love where I work!
Sounds like things are going along pretty well with most of us. Prayers for our Connie and Nic.,..big hugs to everyone else.
Love to ya!
Susan
It's a nice cool morning here again.....loving the cool nites with the breeze wafting in my bedroom window....I sleep like a log!
This morning I go to get fitted for new glasses.....had an
eye exam yesterday afternoon and he also did my yearly
checkup....said everything looked wonderful and healthy.
I didn't get new glasses last year after I had cataract surgery, so medicare should pay for at least the new lens
and maybe part of the frames. The glasses I'm now wearing are 10 yrs old......I really need new ones.
The carb monster has had me in his grip for the last week
and I've gained 5 lbs......so, it's protein shakes for a few
days to get back on track, besides I have to weigh in on
Aug. 29th for my one year checkup and I want to have lost
a nice amount. Ginger snaps, tortilla scoops and pita
bread are not good for me.....all but the pita bread went into the trash this morning....the pita is whole wheat and
only has 80 calories, so I'll keep it in the frig. for down
the road.
Eileen, I'm so sorry about the down sizing at your job. I sure hope they know they have a great employee in you and you will be allowed to stay until time to retire.
Off to have my protein shake now, then out to get the
new glasses. Have a great day everyone.

Margo, Hugs & prayers to you!
Jan S- they kayaking(sp?) sounds so peaceful....reminds me of our trip to Finland, my cousin rowed us out to an Island in the middle of this huge river near the bay of Bothnia, we had a picnic on the beach it was so peaceful and relaxing, picked wild strawberries to eat with sausages grilled over an open fire..yummmm
Annette- have fun with the grands. I know how much you enjoy your time with them.
Hi to Jan C. Kathi, Debbie G, Susan & Pat and anyone I might have missed.
Continued prayers for Brenda & Connie & Nic also.
We're waiting for the fridge repair guy to get here. Our side-by-side is still under warranty and the fridge side is not holding the temp, fluctuating from 35-55 degrees.... But the freezer side is fine. He is supposed to be here betwwen 8- noon
I see the Endo. for biopsy results at 1 today. The right side of my neck and throat is still bothering me though, difficult to swallow. By now I thought it would be back to normal, also some weird thing going on with my ear on the same side since the biopsy., like a nerve twitching rapidly when I swallow, doesn;t hurt just annoying. Although don'k now why the biopsy would have anything to do with that. Dh thinks maybe she irritated a nerve in the throat in getting the tissue from the Thyroid?..Anuway. I'll mention it to her and see if it could be realted or f I should see the ENT. I have PT at 3:15 today too. I am getting tired of all these medical appts though.
DH & I talked about running away this weekend for a getaway but last night his sister called and she wants to come down for the weekend to see his mom. It's been almost a year since she saw mom so we'll stay home. But it is ok because this is the sister I really like, sometimes it seems like she is more my sister than his, especially since I don't have any sisters.! LOL!
guess I'd better get and start the day...meds to take, cleaning to do etc. before appts.
Hugs, Paulette
Good Morning OFF Family,
Eileen, it certainly is scary times and I will pray that your job situation does not change adversely! I know how hard it is and believe me, some days are easier than others, but worrying about a situation simply does not change the outcome and many times we waste our energy on worrying about things that never happen, so please try not to worry too much!
Jan, I went kayaking a long time ago, first time, me, my daughter, her friend and 3 guy friends of mine, what no one told me was that it was a 13 mile trip, they said it was a day trip, we get there and my friend says to me, can you fit in the kayak, I looked at him and was highly insulted and out to prove I could do it, well I fit fine, he said he did mean it as a putdown, just wanted to be sure I could do it safely, anyway, 8 hours later, we are at the end of the trip, putting our kayaks into a slip, my friend is busy showing off his tie-dyed butt, from having gotten it wet, instead of helping me get my kayak docked, well I get taken by the rapids and I'm screaming how far to the next slip, he says about 5 miles, I am now screaming, WHAT!!! and a few other choice things, he tells me to back paddle and I'm like what the bleep is a back paddle and why didn't you show me earlier, I start paddling like mad, get myself to the reeds and two of the guys help me out. It was hysterical, one of those America's funniest video moments, but we did not capture it on tape (lol)! I had a great time, the kids did and the next day I was not even sore from having paddled down the river for over 7 hours. . .
Insurance companies, money mongers, I hate the power they have over what we can and can't have done, etc.
Debbie, you should feel so proud of what you've been doing, I admire the project you've undertaken and you will have to post some pictures of the finished product, hope you enjoy what's left of your time off!
Brenda, hope today finds you feeling less of the sting of the last few days. . .
Margo, I miss you!
Annette, I love all your furbrat stories and Mathew and Melanie ones too!
Connie, hoping all is well with your family!
The rest of you all, I certainly wish a happy and peaceful day!
I have my friend, Boston Lisa (HopefulFuture) visiting, as she came down for our support group meeting and her 1 year post-op check-up, so tonight after work we will hang out and tomorrow before her boyfriend comes down for the weekend to hang with her and his family. My son arrives tomorrow, his wife and the wee ones have been here for 2 weeks, of which I got to see them 1x since I had two weekend trips scheduled and their visit was a last minute thing, good thing is they will be here another 2+ weeks and then next time (December) will be home for good, well Lori and the kids, Jeff needs to go bac****il March 09.
Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen
