Introduction!
I've been lurking around here for awhile. There are so many parts of OH, lots of information and fun things too.
Anyway, I'm Nancy. I'm 55 (which i don't believe) no kids, long term relationship. Retired hairsylist, well sorts of retired. Live in Iowa. Have 3 fur kids. 2 dogs, 1 cat.
I'm in the process of doing my 6 month Dr. supervised diet. Which I'm not doing good at. He just gave me a diet sheet, so many of this, none of those....I do better with diets that TELL me what to eat. I'm thinking I've got to find the South Beach book thats in a box in the garage.
I just wanted to introduce myself, and tell you all how much support and information you provide. Its wonderful.

Hi, Nancy, and welcome to OFF. There is always someone here that can answer any questions that you have. We have a lot of knowledgable folks here. We are a very caring group that shares a lot of laughter, tears and most of all love for each other. I came home when I found this group of wonderful people who love you unconditionally. Please feel free to post often so we can get to know you and you can get to know us.
There has been a lot of people getting through that doctor supervised diet and when you get through it (and you will, I promise) you will be so rewarded. You are on your way to a new and exciting life and you will know that the whole thing was so worth it. You will do fine, and please feel free to come to us when you need help.

Welcome to Off and the best board on OH for help and support. I went through the dreaded 6-month diet myself so I know what you are going through. I hope you use this time to learn about eating protein first. I used that time to test protein shakes and alot of recipes shared by everyone. It helped to pass the time and I lost weight doing it!

I am in the 6 months medically supv diet part too. I started March 3. I see a Nutritionist monthly. She gave me guidelines to follow and helps me tweak my plan. I am losing about 2 pounds per week. I do it the old fashioned way of counting calories and carbs, make sure I get enough protein in every day and limit the fat in my diet and eat healthy carbs. I write everything down in my journal and use a web based site to check my calorie counts and track my exercise. Good luck to you! Paulette
