Just need to share my frustration about myself with you all...who else understands?

A pound is a pound, a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of feathers. A pound of fat weighs the same 16 oz......
Give yourself a break, I find a lot of it is in my attitude also.....

It was extremely discouraging this morning [Tues] when I got on the scale again [and I know I shouldn't weigh myself everyday] but I had gained another pound....I do know that I am retaining some fluids as my rings are a little tight, but it sure is frustrating.....years ago I would have thrown in the towel once again....but not now that I have my pouch to help me.
Thanks for your support. Lov, Marti
ps....I tried that 5 day pouch test...hated it....couldn't do it.

Retaining water? I do, my blood pressure is back to sky high, my ankles are swelling to giant size and it is hot here, been 107 all last week, today will be a bit cooler.....but it helped me...
I only mentioned carbs because that is one of my demons....the 5 day helps with other things as well.
Are you eating white foods? how much sugar intake are you doing? alcohol has lots of sugar....the wine you have has sugar...
I know back when I went thru dectox they use to give us candy bars and such because of the sugar blues we were having when not having our alcohol......
Hope you figure it out....I not suggesting anymore.....

My normal day of food is Cappachino..1/3 cup plain yogurt, 1/3 cup blueberries,1/3 cup granola [no sugar] and for lunch I usually have a salad with lots of veges and either salmon or tuna on it for protein.....mid after noon I have a banana and chai tea....for dinner we usually have something grilled with
veges and of course wine before dinner and with dinner. I don't drink alcohol except sometimes when we are out I have a scotch on the rocks, but only one. I don't seem to get hungry in the evening, never have thank God. I do also drink bottles of diet green tea all day in the car. I am trying to convert to water only.....I buy large bars of dark chocolate..and break off a couple of pieces when I get a craving, but that and someting warm always satisfies me. I think maybe my body has gotten into a rut with what I eat....I love routine and order so that is part of my problem I think....I need to change things up.
Any suggestions you have I would be grateful for...Love, Marti

I agree with the water, muscle thing. When I first started the treadmill, I couldn't believe it! I was gaining instead of losing! but then, boom! It started working! Not fast, but moving down.
It is so hard when I do all the 'right" stuff and the scale goes up or stays....that's when I say what the h3ll and eat something I shouldn't. I am also a wine, marguarita gal and if I cut those out or way down, it moves faster too. Not sure why, even if I count them in with my calories. But, I love em....
Just wait, a little time more and I bet you see the dropping...
Hugs and hugs to you, Marti!

I know it is frustrating but you will get there. I am one that believes in the muscle weight. I know my girlfriend is having problems losing more and her trainer said that is muscle weight. If her trainer said it there must be something to it.
You will get through this, Marti. You are a strong woman and strong woman are victorious women!
You're drinking water, exercising, and avoiding the bad stuff...stay off the scales. You know, since I had surgery, the only time I weigh is when I see my doctors. So,it might be months between weighins. People ask me if I've ever stalled and I don't know because I don't get on the scales enough to know and that is one of those stressors that I avoid. And stress will cause fluid retention because of the increase in catacholines and the effects of these on your heart and respiratory system. Plus, like everyone has said, muscle weighs more than fat and so you are probably just building muscle. And if you think wine could be the cause, then you might cut back. I save wine for socializing but when I have parties and have opened bottles, for a few days I sip and could easily get used to it but wine is a carbohydrate drink so be careful. Don't give up. Oh, I had to go on liquids a while back because of having severe malabsorbtion problems and the doctor weighed me before and after and in that week that I did the liquids, I dropped nine pounds.
