I managed to get through the weekend almost unscathed for my appointment at the PS today.  Saturday I had the stomach grumbles and figured it might be nerves.

I got to work this morning on an empty stomach and worked until 2 p.m., left and got to my PS consult for the 3:15 appointment.

It appears that they will schedule me for the LBL (extended adomnioplasty) the middle of October.  I met the surgeon and will go back for one more 'clinic' with the teaching surgeon, then will have a definite date.

UT Southwest Medical School Plastic Surgery Residency Program.  One night stay in the hospital, 4 weeks off work.  Cost...........drum roll, please..... less than $5,000.  AND, that includes the complication insurance.  I have insurance but since they aren't covering my surgery they also won't pay for any complications from it.  It's a separate policy, good for 6 mo after surgery.

That what doesn't kill us will make us stronger.

I'm being realistic in that I'll not have a 20 year old body when this is over.... and I don't think all of my Shar Pei a$$ will totally go away.  I carry a lot of fat in my backside... and have a shelf, even now.  They will also lipo that part so when I sit down my a$$ doesn't ride up to my waist.

Should be interesting. I've not signed the papers yet, but I am committed at this point. And, the best part is.....it's paid for. Thank you, Barnett Shale.

Congratulations, Janet. Please keep us posted on how things are moving along. You may not have a Shar Pei a$$ anymore~one never knows. But then again since you aren't a nudist~you would let us know that right~no one is ever going to know. lol

Darlene,

Any teaching hospital has this kind of program.  Check on one in your area.

I don't think we have any around here...besides, I wanted to come and stay at your house and have you take care of me....

Oh Janet....I am just thrilled for you!!

If I had $5000 dollars I would get it done too!!!
Actually I think a face lift would be the first PS I would get.
My wrinkles show so much more now that my fat face isn't smoothing them out anymore. Oh to dream!!

Congrats to you my dear....keep us posted...this is so
exciting for you!!

Connie,

I really wanted a facelift first.  But then I did what I usually do.....I got practical.  My panni and a$$ give me more grief and I've love handles.  I get yeast sores.  So I just decided to do what was the most critical.  I can live with my face. It ain't stopped a clock yet.

I love your face.....just the way it is.....I'm glad you went for the body instead of the face....our bodies, as usual, make us the most insecure....xxoo M

Janet ....you are so funny........"Hasn't Stopped A Clock Yet" remark made me giggle!!

My skin on my body isn't really too bad at all. I can live with it...the face...now that is something else!!

Hugs...connie d
