What's new Monday

Good Morning, All!

I'm up bright and early (well, not really very bright...either the sky or me at this time of the morning...), and thought I'd start.  I'm working 4:30am-12:30 pm this week.  Not happy, but it's got to be done.  I just wish I wasn't the one to have to do it.

Thinking of our dear Thelma, hoping her tummy lets her see the PS this afternoon.

I'll catch up when I get home.  Everyone have a great Monday.

From coast to coast we've got you covered! It was 106 here in the desert yesterday. My eyeballs were just about dry enough to pop out of the sockets! Can't seem to drink enough to stay hydrated.

Nothing much going on. Kind of like winter cabin fever in reverse. Did a few things early in the day, then hibernated.  Worked on the "tiger striped fleecies" that I'm making for the twins. Will finish them next week at Erin's when I can try them on for a final fit.

Erin says that they are flopping from back to stomach like fish and spending a lot of time on the floor wiggling and squirming all 8 appendages. Sounds more like octopii (plural???) than fish to me. Can't wait to see them next week.

Making final outside paint choices this week, trying to pick out lighting and fans.

Nothing much else, up way to early. Think I'll try to get a bit more sleep before the sun comes up. Wishing you all a nice Monday wherever you are.

Karen,

I thought 103 was bad! Course we don't really have air-conditioning in this old house. Fans mostly, one window conditioner in the dining room and one on the third floor for my scrapbooking and TV room, with it going and the fan up there going I got it down to about 90. Downstairs better about 85 and the middle floor with our bedrooms was over 100. Like I said on What are we eating forum...our bedroom was hot, but not in a good way!
Sounds like you are having lot's of fun making little clothes for the babies. Hope we get to see a picture of them wearing those outfits!

Cheryl, Hopefully it will cool down in the Seattle area before you head out. It should. Have a great trip in case I don't get back to it. Is Beth going with you?

Good Morning, Candy, and Everyone,

Candy, your hours this week aren't great but they will give you afternoons free.  I work everyday 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and love having some of my afternoon free.

Busy weekend and now an even busier work week.  Had a great time playing with my grandson yesterday.  I was on the floor playing with his train.  We were crawling around pretending to be zoo animals.  That's a real milestone for me as I've been afraid to be on the floor because of my knee for so long.  He's 2 1/2 years old and was crawling all over me!  Had a great time.

Nothing else new to share.  I too hope that our Janet has the tummy problem in check today.  Congratulations to Gramma Brenda, too!

Happy Monday,

Kathi

*~*~*~*~*~**~~**~~*  Ohhhhh  Kathi,  I too have a 2 1/2 yr old grandson...  he loves anything that moves...  "ucks"  "ars"  twains  etc.   I took him to the John Deere tractor store the other day.  He was so excited he had the shivers. LOL  this little guy doesn't ask for things when we go shopping but this time he kept saying "I wov it"  "I need one"  "I want dat one"    it was so funny....  Of course we came home with a tractor that pulls the plow.   Oh How Sweet It Is.....   Millie

Hi Kathi,  Glad you had such a busy & great weekend.  Did you get the message I left?   I'm thinking now that maybe I dialed  a wrong number.    How about giving me a call this evening if you're free?  HUGS

hello Gang!  I have been away with vacation to Co and then preparing for 11th year of homescholing our teenage daughter.  Whew, I keep asking the Lord if He remembers I will be 59 soon...HAHAHA and He seems to remember so I will continue.....

Vacation in Colorado was wonderful.  Seeing daughter and SIL and grands was great!  And 3 weeks was enough time to get many talks, hugs and love in for sure.  I know now I do not want to move there though.  Too expensive at this stage in our lives and too many people for sure.  So we may try for Myrtle Beach area next spring, the Lord willing.

I have been having some shoulder problems and then I fell at the Chicago airport before return flight during layover there.  I hurt my tail bone and head and then when I got home the next day my arm hurt below my elbow although there isn't a mark and it still hurts like crazy and that was Aug 3rd.  But all in all I am doing well.  Just getting ready to return to job at the school in neighborhood as crossing guard then schooling our daughter and I oversee children's ministry at our church and also teach the children and help with women's ministry and host a home fellowship for our church.  OK now I am tired from seeing that...I may need to cut back somewhere.  But at least now I am physically fit and able to do these things, WLS has changed my life...I did a lot of these things before but I was always in pain and tired.  I still have old age pains but the tiredness is nothing compared to before WLS.

I have missed you all and am amzed once again at the changes in all of you in the weeks I have been away.  Welcome to the new comers and hang in there you will all see changes soon and it does get better.

It is His love and grace that saved and sustains me.

I think I'll call you Saint Joan. . . .I taught middle school and high school for 17 years. Don't think I could home school my own, especially my daughter. She and I both are a bit strong willed and we tend to lock horns, each sure that she knows the right way to do things! Bless you!

No not a saint for sure Karen.  There are days we have to "step away" and take a breath and continue later.  But they are not as frequent as I would have imagined.  A lot has to do with us being led by the Lord and knowing when to be still.  It is a challenge for sure yet I am so glad this is my path for us.  Now catch me in about two months when we all need a break.....
