Cheryl,

I don't always have a smile or positive outlook. Pity parties happen and complaints spew forth. Thanks for the kind compliment though. The support helps tremendously.

Good Morning Annette and friends!
WEll, I am up and attam this morning!  Just going to run to store for ICE for my drink while tiling and to get banannas and blueberries.  THEN I am going to try tiling the tub surround.  Wish me luck please!  I ended up buying (with money I don't have) a wet saw last night.  I think I will need it for the complex cuts on the floor.  If it works well, I'll use it again next year for the other bathroom.  Or perhaps the slate floor I would LOVE to have in the kitchen.....LOL hundreds of ways to spend the $$ aren't there?
Annette, I get undergarments at Dillards, they are their brand and not as pricey as spanx, they hook in the crotch and include a bra.  I really like them, then help smooth and push the skin in.  Good luck with them!  I don't think they could hurt.  Not sure they would prevent hernia's, since a hernia is a weakness in the muscle, but they may help!
Hope you all have a lovely day!

Hello Debbie,

I used to have a slate floor in my kitchen, of all places. It was beautiful but I didn't like it. It was cold and if I dropped anything on it, things would break into a gazillion pieces. All those nooks and crannies held dirt and I had to scrub it on my hands and knees. A kitchen is NOT a good place for a slate floor, from my experience. But it would be good in other rooms - real pretty.

A friend gave me a couple of Spanx. They look like a torture device so I've left them in my undie drawer. Maybe they will give relief even if no prevention.

Good morning, sweet ladies,

Annette, Bali makes a wonderful long line bra that holds you in nicely, is easy to get into and makes you so smooth and curvy.  I've ordered mine on line, about $26, I think.  Also, they have a camesole type one that isn't as supportive, but still gives you some support.  You wear it over your bra.

My "boss" from the bariatric support group called me last night to tell me my surgeon's father passed away. I'm not so certain why she thought I would want to go to the funeral, but things are different here in the South. If you have a co-worker who's third cousin dies, you go to the funeral.  I suppose my surgeon (who, apparently knows me by name, highly unusual for him) has been with me in tough times, so I don't mind being there in his.  Just seems strange to go to your doctor's father's funeral.  The service is being held in Little Rock's largest church, Emmanuel Baptist, where Bill and Hillary attended when they lived here. It's the biggest church I've ever seen, so having an opportunity to see it inside will be wonderful.

Not much going on here today. Gary is photographing a wedding reception this afternoon. I was invited to go, but he'll be busy clicking away and I don't know anyone, so I'm staying home. Might do some cleaning, probably some cooking, defenately some sitting!!

Hugs to all, prayers to those who need them

Susan

Well, CRAP!!!

And I mean that sincerely.  CRAP!!!

I've made another appointment for my LBL consult tomorrow at the Medical School. Got the last one.  3:15 tomorrow afternoon.

The last one I made I got deathly ill with colon spasms all night and throwing up.  Decided it was either a 'bug' or nerves.  So thought I'd try it again....

Yep.  This morning..... at $4, tummy started cramping.  I've been a bathroom broad there and here four times already and it's only 9:15 a.m.

I AM going to that appointment if it hairlips me.  Pharts or not, Depends or not.

Doesn't that just frost ya......  I don't blame you for going anyway.  I'm sure they have encountered worse scenarios ....  Must be frustrating but hey......  Good Luck....  Millie

"Pharts" I got.  Well, not actually GOT (at least not today....), but you know what I mean....

What the ???? is "hairlips"??????   Or do I really not want to know?

Maybe a Southern thing??

Hang in there, Thelma.

I hope you can get your tummy settled down and make it to that appointment, Janet ... just a bad case of nerves, I'll bet.

Janet,
Maybe you need a pitcher of chocolate martinis to calm your nerves?

If you have a bug, the alcohol will kill it. If nerves are the problem - a pitcher full will take care of them real quick.

Poor Janet, you need a group hug!!!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*  Annette,  One of my "fears" of WLS was the complications from hernias or gall stones.  I was fortunate my Dr took out the gall bladder and he put in a mesh patch over the muscle where the incision was.    I've been surprised more Drs don't put in the patch... it grows right to the muscle......

I wear a one piece under some of my outfits to "hold it all together"  It keeps me from swaying as I walk.....  LOL I use to say that my tummy looked like an udder because it would hang & swing.  I too wear a firm under garment on a daily basis...  I feel better with the light support.   Millie
